We have a 5 hour drive to Dallas, looked at flying and I think a lot of people do, but I was worried about the possibility of not being ready to fly on the scheduled date so we decided to drive so I can take it slow! I hope I make it! Lots of stops and walking, at least once an hour!

It was 6 hours for me and I handled the drive home fine with stopping to walk every hour.

I'll have to go about 75 miles! I'm hoping there aren't too many bumps on the way home

I am 2 hour away by plane. Bariatric Surgery isn't as "popular" where I live, so decided to have it done where these surgeries are done all the time, and I am very glad I did. I was a little worried about the flight back after surgery, but all went well, kept my legs moving, and stood when I could.

6-7 hours for LA to SF, though they do have a semi-local office and support group about an hour away.

Where in SF will you be having your surgery?

About 30 minutes, depending on traffic.

I had mine done at St. Mary's by Dr. John Rabkin last May; all went very smooothly. My wife had her DS done there a few years ago by his older brother.

1/2 hour away
