  1. I make mine with skim milk to boost the protein then add butter spray & Splenda. YUMMY!
  2. It looks like Thrush (yeast infection of the tongue) from antibiotics. Call your doctor & he/she can prescribe some Nystatin swish & swallow solution & maybe Diflucan. It can be bothersome & hinder your intake of fluids. Hope that helps.
  3. I was sleeved 10/23 & tried 1/2 of a protein shot for the 1st time this morning. I had horrible tummy rumbling for a couple hours but nothing more.
  4. Sleeved 10/23. Down 19 lbs so far. Only 2 more lbs until I reach my 1st goal...Onederland!!
  5. Wow! You look awesome! You are rocking that SOA t-shirt. Love it.
  6. Congratulations! Only 4 pounds away from that wonderful place myself. See you there soon!!
  7. That is one of my ultimate goals. I want to run! I'm only a week post-op. As soon as I'm cleared to exercise, I am going to do C25K. I've started it a few times in the past, but was too overweight & out of shape to do it.
  8. My surgeon said NO STRAWS, but my NUT said she didn't have a problem with straws if they helped you get your fluids in. I am 6 days postop & started using a straw in my Premier drinks yesterday. No problems so far. Just sip slow & easy.
  9. Lucky 13 Starting weight: 220 Day of surgery: 210 1st day @ home: 214 Today's weight: 207 Total of 13 lbs down so far. Okay, now somebody please hide my scale before I drive myself crazy with it!!!
  10. I was sleeved the same day & I'm feeling exactly the same way! I have been craving a meatball of all things. I am not supposed to advance from clear liquids to full liquids until next Thurs, but I'm tempted to try some cream soup or Greek yogurt or something that will stay with me a little longer than clears. I have been taking Protonix granules since I was discharged from the hospital, so I really don't think stomach acid is my problem.
  11. I would also be interested in a private FB group. I was sleeved 10/23 & have not announced it publicly. I'll send you my FB contact info. Please add me. Thank you!!!
  12. I was sleeved Tues. I woke myself up at 4:00 this morning when I sharted in my sleep. My nurse said its pretty common but I was still embarrassed. I'm planning on sleeping on a towel for precautionary measures when I get home. UGH!
  13. Sign me up! I'm an official Octosleever! Surgery today went well. I've been walking the halls & eating ice chips most of the day. No nausea yet. So far so good :-)
  14. I'm getting ready to go to the hospital now. Best wishes for speedy recoveries to my 10/23 sleeve twins!!
  15. Running, shopping in the regular size section, not being ashamed to wear a swimsuit, buying pretty panties, looking hot on the back of my hubby's Harley, not being the fat friend. The list goes on and on...
  16. Ok. I thought I had done all of my research regarding sleeve surgery & thought I was completely prepared. Nowhere do I remember hearing about the horrors I have faced today. I have been on clear liquids for four days. Today I was instructed to take Neomyacin 500mg 2 tablets + Erythromycin 500mg 2 tablets today @ 1:00, 2:00, 6:00, & 9:00. Yes that equals 16 total antibiotic pills plus 1/2 a bottle of mag citrate @4:00. I can honestly say I should win The Cleanest Colon Award. I just hope I live until I have to be at the hospital @ 5:45 in the morning for surgery. If I survive the poopage, I can't wait to join on fellow Octosleevers on the losers bench tomorrow!!!
  17. My surgery is in two days! Thank you so much for sharing. Video was awesome & informative.
  18. I was worried about weight gain on my six month pre-op as well. I gained five pounds. The NP in my surgeons office told me not to worry about it since those extra pounds will come off in the weeks before surgery (2 weeks low carb + 4 days clear liquids). She was right. I'm down six pounds with only two more days till surgery. Sending good vibes & positive thoughts your way. YOU CAN DO IT!!
  19. Like many on here, I have been working toward the VSG for 6 months. I thought I was completely prepared. Only 2 days to go now (surgery date 10/23) & I'm beginning to freak out a little. My husband is my cheerleader & keeps me motivated ((Hugs)). We've got this! I can't wait to see you on the losers bench.
  20. Congrats! My date is 10/23. It has been a long time coming but is finally almost here. I start my pre-op diet tomorrow. Hugs & best wishes!
  21. I'm sitting in the Bariatric waiting room now. It's my last pre-op appointment before surgery on 10/23. Things are getting real. Can't wait to join my October Sleeve brothers & sisters on the losers bench.
  22. Welcome sleeve buddy! We'll be joining the losers bench together soon :-)
