  1. I feel you! I am taking my 3 children to a Water park Thursday. I am already cringing at the thought of flaunting all my stuff (and I have a lot of it) in a swimsuit. I would keep myself locked away at home if I could. That is surely not fair to them or to myself. I am mentally preparing myself now by thinking how much less of me there will be to flaunt when we go back next year. BTW, I agree that you have an awesome looking family!
  2. Dave, your surgery is on my birthday. Wishing you the best on your journey!
  3. BEAUTIFUL...so proud for you!
  4. Recently kicked my Diet Pepsi habit in preperation for my upcoming sleeve surgery.
  5. I almost told him that I'm taking steps to be skinnier & healthier, but he'd always be old & ugly. I decided not to stoop to his level. I'm going to use his rude comment as a little extra fuel for my motivation. #riseabovethehaters
  6. Just met with the Cardiologist to get surgical clearance. He did an EKG, Echocardiogram, & Treadmill stress test. I'm 36 & fairly healthy with the exception of Obesity. When he was reviewing my test results with me he said, "not bad for a fat girl." What?! I'm glad I'm not the super sensitive type or that would have really hurt my feelings. I just let it go & thought how thankful I am that I will not be getting rude comments like that much longer. October 23 can't get here soon enough!
  7. Welcome. You'll get lots of info & support here. I'm currently jumping through hoops as well & scheduled to be sleeved Oct 23. Best wishes on your journey!
  8. 36 year old Home Health RN here. Currently in the middle of my 6 month supervised diet. Scheduled to be sleeved Oct 23.
  9. I'm 36 & live in Northeast Mississippi. I'm scheduled to be sleeved Oct 23.
  10. You look awesome! So proud for you!
  11. Am I excited? Heck yeah I'm excited! I'm boardering on being obsessed. I can't wait for the whole world to meet the new & improved me!
  12. Boo to the bank but yay to you. I also admire your determination. My tentative date is October 23 so we are going to be sleeve sisters.
  13. You are my hero! Way to go! You look amazing!!
  14. I started my 6 month managed weigh-ins in May. I should be sleeved in Oct @ NMMC. I have all my consults (psych, cardio, pulmonary, nut) scheduled over the next few months. I'm 5'2" with a BMI of 39. Goal weight is 130. I'm 36 & haven't weighed that since Middle School. I'm so anxious to get it done, time seems to be dragging by.
  15. Eager12, it's great to see other North Mississippians on here. I see Dr Pinson @ NMMC Bariatric Center in Tupelo. I still have a few more months of pre-op insurance requirements to go. Plan to be sleeved Oct 23rd. BTW, looking forward to seeing my Ms Kitty too!
  16. It's great to hear from other shorties. I'm 5'2" & weighed 212 at my evaluation visit with my surgeon yesterday. I still have a couple more months of my required supervised weight loss program. Surgery is scheduled for Oct 23 with Dr Pinson in Tupelo, MS. My goal weight is 130 & I can't wait to be on the losers bench!!
  17. Just got my date today....10/23. It seems like forever, but I'm sure it'll be here before I know it. Anyone else scheduled for October?
  18. Only my husband knows about my upcoming surgery & he is very supportive. I'm not keeping it a "if I tell you, I'll have to kill you" type of secret & will certain not lie if asked point blank if I had surgery. I feel like its a personal decision & it's mine to make. I lack the strong support system that others have, but that's okay. Every journey is different & unique.
  19. My hubby wants to see how I do before he decides to get sleeved. I haven't gotten my date yet, but I'm interested in hearing what others have to say. Thanks for posting this topic.
  20. No, but thanks for posting this. I'm interested in responses as well. I'm hoping to be approved by my insurance, but like to have a backup plan just in case.
  21. I've been researching surgery in Mexico. My husband is 100% supportive of my surgery in the US. He thinks I have lost my mind for even considering going out of the country for it though.
  22. Oh wow! That is amazing! You rock dude!!
