The hospital i was in provided everything really. The only things i brought were deodorant, few pairs of undies, hair brush, book, phone and phone charger. They provided toothpaste, toothbrush, Shampoo, lotion etc. Since i had the IV in they made me wear the gowns which was fine with me and they provided me with the socks with the rubber bottoms. Honestly don't bring much since you will be out of it mostly and they provide everything essential. Good luck!

Bare basics!!! Toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, lotion, chapstick, phone, charger, and extension cord. Comfortable, loose fitting clothes or a loose dress. The bra is a toss-up. I couldn't wear mine home, so, the a cami it was. The TWINS were swinging free, lol!!!

A beverage, Water, etc., for the ride home would be good. My mouth was so dry, I couldn't take it. Had to stop on the way home and get something.

Yea, I took a sports bra to wear home. The only nausea I had was when I was first waking up from surgery and my awesome nurse had phenegran going into my IV immediately. It was not bad nausea, just a tinge. All my nurses were wonderful!

My personal life saver was pull-up wet wipes. They wouldn't let me take a shower so I lived to clean myself with those wipes after a day of not showering. UGH. Oh and I agree the chapstick will be a lifesaver especially the first day before your swallow test when you can have nothing. other than that a few bucks to turn on your tv but the hospital provides mostly everything you will need.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
