Sharp Pain In My Side And Now There Is A Lump.

Recommended Posts

My surgery was July 30th. Yesterday I was turning myself over in bed and experienced a sharp pain by my largest incision. When I

press on the incision this morning, I can feal a finger tip size lump. Has this happened to anyone? I am out of town, and this is kind of freaking me out.

Samething happen to me about 2 weeks out, my surgeon said it was normal it will last about 6 weeks or so. I'm 4 weeks out and still have a knot. Grant it It's a lot smaller than it was 2 weeks ago. But still there.

Sharp pain was most likely the scar tissue ripping

You have a deep stitch in the muscle layer where they took your stomach out. The lump is scar tissue and will break away. Once your incisions are healed gently massage them.

I know that at 5 weeks I still get a slight pulling at that site. It gets better everyday!!!

Does anyone still have severe pain there? My Dr said it was a pulled muscle and stitch from sneezing. But OMG! It is still soooo painful! I'm two weeks out

I'm so glad to hear other people have experienced the "lump" thing. I have the same thing. I am three weeks post op and my Dr. said it's nothing to worry about. It's just weird to me to feel that lump.

My doc said to massage it and use a heating pad to help break up the scar tissue.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
