Drinking And Eating

Recommended Posts

I'm having such a hard time eating without drinking. I was doing great Pre-op but it's a struggle now. Did this happen to anyone else?

YES - it is hard, but you'll get it. I don't always wait the full 30 minutes before a meal, but I try to go 30 minutes after a meal.

At first it's not easy, but it is a good habit to have. So keep at it until it becomes a second nature to you. Really helps keep acid down and reduce acid reflex.

For me, it is easy not to drink and eat. because if I drink anything while eating, I become really, really uncomfortable. Generally, I cannot drink anything until at least an hour after I have ate.

It is hard not to drink while eating. I have to catch myself because there are times when I may start to cough and reach for the Water - that is getting up to go get the water. My NUT said if you have to drink...sip don't just drink it, sip it and only about a couple of sips then put it down and away from you.

For some odd reason I do not have a problem with this, like *susan* if I drink when I eat it is very uncomfortable! Pre op I tried to eat without drinking and was never successful. But if you have to teeny tiny sips

I also have a issue with this. I was a big drinker to begin with, before, during and after. This is a hard habit to break. It is uncomfortable when I do it so that does force me to think about it more.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
