Dr. Oz On Tv Right Now Promoting Gastric Bipass Surgery

Recommended Posts

I think you may be jealous of his "not manly body". He is fit, slim and eats right!! What we all should be doing.

Jealous?!? Hardly. For a doctor, he always looks sickly. I'd rather be fat than skeletal.

Ouch! I can take him or leave him. I do find his "teasers" misleading. I have tried certain herbal weightloss things he has promoted (generically, of course" and i found them a waste of money.

I like Dr. Oz when I'm at the gym and there is nothing else to watch. I will be watching the show at 4:00 p.m that's when it will air here in CA. It might be an older show but I think it will be interesting to hear what they have to say.

I like him. He tries to inform/help with his show. No one is ever going to please us 100% all of the time. I think his show is informative.

Also, I don't judge people by their looks, that would make me a hypocrite.

I did like the episode. I also think that they do not talk about the sleeve so much because it hasn't been around as long as the bypass. Even my Dr. said they only have information that goes back 3 years. And a person who has diabetes and is over 100 lbs. overweight will have more success at getting rid of diabetes with a bypass.

Yeah, because being self-righteous is a better way to go.

I could care less if you think he is ugly or skinny, whatever it was you said, I do care if people judge me or others by their looks and its hurtful so therefore since I feel that way, I stated that I do not judge people by their looks.

How is that holier than thou or self righteous..

Geez

Here I waa just interested that Oz was promoting surgery over his usual diet and exercise and supplements bandwagon.

I don't watch Dr. Oz because he's always on when I am working. However, I admire anyone who would dedicate their entire life to the betterment of others. It's commendable. Having said that.... I am very glad he spoke about WLS, because I seriously do believe that WLS is best chance possible for most people to lose and keep off the weight as long as they by into the program and follow the guidelines.

He talked about the sleeve (spider surgery) on his show earlier this year. And he was all for it!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
