had a girl on my hospital floor with a leak at 11 weeks... just listen to your body and take heed not to hurt your sleeve

The risky part are the first 3 weeks...but you need to be careful the first 6 months...after that most doctors believe you are pretty much healed

Three weeks is the high risk period. Stomach is completely healed after four weeks.

You will know if something is not right. If you have prolonged pain in your abdomen and possibly left shoulder and you just feel really nauseous for longer than 24 hours, consult your Dr or ER.

Your internal staple line is not healed at four weeks. Your stomache internally takes 6 to 8 weeks to resolve swelling and irritation. Leaks are found as far out as three months. As general guide is three months, I say general because we all heal at different rates.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
