I was supposed to do 2 weeks liquids and 2 weeks of mushies/puree (progressing the consistency to more solid over those 4 weeks). but I ran into my surgeon at the hospital when I was there the other day (taking my Dad in [who also has a band] for non band related issues) and he told me that I could have some solid foods (like chicken - I told him I was craving it) if I chewed it REALLY well. So I am going to start eating solids on Wednesday (thats 3 weeks) for 1 meal a day and see how I go.

My Dr also said (I think some one else wrote this about their Dr too) that his time frames are a guide and each patient (with his guidance) should go through them at their own pace. Some will need more time some less. I'm glad he's flexible cos I sure was getting sick of eating baby food type food!

No pre op diet but 2 weeks clear fluids, 2 weeks full fluids, 2 weeks mushy then gradual increase to solid over the next 1 to 2 weeks

I have 3 days left on my full liquids; then onto mushies. But at this point I'm dying to 'bite' something, rather than just swallowing Soup. UGH!

How bad would it be if I were to have a little chicken? Also, since I'm allowed cottage cheese, you think hummus would be ok?

Did you spit it out b/c you were scared? I'm terrified to try foods. It's like learning all over!

I got very 'rebellious' today. lol Took Italian Wedding Soup, blended it, and thought it would something 'different' than the cream Soups I've been doing. Yuck. Had the taste, but the texture grossed me out; so I threw it out.

I spit it out because i am not supposed to have that yet. I just got banded on 2/8. But I just needed something in my mouth you know. I know it is nutty. I can't believe I got depressed last night and started crying. I feel like I want it out. I feel like I don't want it in. I know it is unheard of probably. I actually felt like telling my doctor to make arrangements to have it removed because I don't feel mentally ready for this. I am just back and forth on my emotions.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
