I must not be normal... I came home 26 hours out of surgery with very little pain. I do have 2 squishy pillows that I have been sleeping with under my belly. I have not had any issues getting up from bed or anything else. I really suggest getting up and walking as soon as possible after surgery and keep going. I think I feel so much better since I got up and walked the halls of the hospital as much as possible. Also anther suggestion. Take you pjs and ask to put them on as soon as allowed. I think being in my clothes and walking the halls both did a great deal to me feeling so good.

Good luck and keep us posted. Btw I am 7 days out of surgery and walking at least 1/2 mile a day to keep moving. I get tired quickly but feel great and no pain.

I think you will be quite surprised at just how easy it is to move around after your surgery. Understandably there will be aches and pains but these really are minimal. The more movement the quicker the healing process :) . Hospital beds are awful as is having to lay on your back for long periods of time. I'm 3 days post op. Got home yesterday and feel 90% better than what I did in hospital. I have my comfy lounge and got plenty of sleep last night.

For me I knew how I was gonna sleep because I worked it out a few years ago with gall bladder op!

Took a sofa cushion not the little pillow you might have on one but like the seat or back had it like this \ on the bed a length ways folded quilt for padding the bottom gap and I could squish around my butt more pillow for my head and on my sides and slept like a baby.

Hi... well for me it's a little different I slept on my couch on my side and finally after 11 days I'm able to move to my bed.... the couch made it easy for me to roll on to my knees and get help to get up to go to the bathroom

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
