Easy Protein Intake!

Recommended Posts

For those of you fresh post-ops, I found this an easy way to get a large chunk of my Protein in.

1 pineapple

3 Oranges

1 cup greek yogurt

1 scoop Protein powder

First peel and chunk the fruit so you can juice the pieces (no pulp!). Then add yogurt, protein, juice, and ice to texture to blender. Blend and enjoy!

Depending on the protein brand, generally there are 23 g per scoop. There is also 23 g per cup of yogurt, so it amounts to 46 g (plus whatever is in the juice). Yay! Made my life a lot easier figuring this out!! Good Luck!

That sounds great! Thanks!

Still waiting on insurance to approve, but this will be VERY handy when they do and I finally get a surgery date.

@dpflorida- There are 9 g of carbs in the yogurt, and 2 in the Protein Powder. I don't know how strict you are with fruit, but generally that will be higher in carbs and sugar. Naturally occurring though : )

Have you tried plain greek yogurt with just a little chocolate Protein powder in it?

I was just thinking about it this morning but haven't tried yet.

Oranges have 15 carbs for a medium. That's a lot For me to have! When I was on purées I would mix a little sugar free pudding powder in the Greek. All the flavor not as many carbs. Tasted yummy too.

Yeah, I guess that is something to think about if you have issues with blood sugar. My dietitian just told me anything that was naturally occurring is fine...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
