I like to prepare it like you would for chili or spaghetti, then mix in half a bag of frozen peas and frozen diced carrots, and a couple tablespoons of your favorite Chinese or Japanese sauce. I've tried the garlic sauce and hoisin sauces and both were really good. I plan to experiment with something different next time I make it, maybe a little spicier.

Teriyaki Turkey Burgers

4 turkey burgers ( you could make your own, but I'm lazy).

1 tsp. sesame oil

4 pineapple slices

1 tbs. pineapple juice from the slices .

1 Tbs no msg, low sodium teriyaki sauce/glaze

I put the oil in my electric fryer and distributed it with a pastry brush. Fried the burgers 7 minutes on each side.

Mix the juice and teriyaki sauce. For the second side of the burger, I brushed the burger with the teriyaki/pineapple sauce mixture.

Brushed the pineapple slices with the mixture and broiled for 2 minutes.

Add pineapples to the burgers.

Makes 4, but I only ate 1/2 ( I am pre-op)

My finicky family loved them.

What type of oats? I have been trying to find something for my cod fish cakes besides bread crumbs.

I brown it with chopped up red, green and yellow bell peppers, a few fresh garlic cloves and chopped onions. I salt and pepper it too. Then I add about a half cup of brown rice and Water and let it cook until the rice is done. yum... You can add as much rice as you want, but i cut it down so I would get more protien in the meal and not carbs.

I used old-fashioned slow cooking oatmeal. I did grind it in my food processor since I didn't want them to be in big flakes in my baby meatballs.

Couple easy ones. I grill pretty much everything so most of my methods are based around that...

Famous Dave's Steak and Burger seasoning. Grill it. cheese it. Eat it!

Weber Gourmet Burger seasoning. Grill, cheese, eat.

Salt, pepper, italian seasoning, crushed red pepper. Top as you like. Provolone works very very well for this.

Taco seasoning, jalepenos, mexican cheese. Mix, patty out, and grill. Bed of refried Beans and more cheese!

Soy sauce, as much hot stuff as you can stand, garlic, onion, smidge of brown sugar (think chinese type). Great alone or a little brown rice.

Hot mustard, crushed red pepper, garlic powder, onion powder.... Like a hot bratwurst type of taste.

Salt, pepper, onions, small bit of bread crumbs, jalapenos, few ozs beer. Mix til you can patty as you may have to play with the crumbs and beer. Not sure how I came up with that one but it came out pretty good lol!

I have more haha!

Parkers dad- love those!! :))))

LOL!

Love the grill. I have been known to grill with snow flying so lots of time there. I don't care for fried food too much anyway with the exception of the occasional fried chicken or fried potatoes (very very rare).

Love the grilling taste, don't have to heat up the house, less mess, and it's better for you so it's really a win win....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
