Beware Ladies While Exercising!

Recommended Posts

I was walking around my neighborhood getting some exercise today around 11:30am. I like to think that I am alert when it comes to making sure I am safe and not going to get run over walking. I don't listen to music extremely loud or anything and try to be aware of my surroundings. But something crazy happened today!

I had been walking for 10min and was needing to cross a street to get to the other side. This truck pulls up next to me while I am at the stop sign. I look over to make sure he isn't going to go first and then I look both ways to cross the street. I jog across the street and the truck pulls up to me on the side of the road and stops to ask me a question. I take my ear buds out and he asks where "hard top road is". I said I had no idea and then he proceeded to ask again...this time nodding towards his lap. THE MAN HAD NO PANTS ON AND WAS BEING A PERVERT TO ME! He exposed his complete self to me on purpose. I freaked out and yelled OMG and starting to try and get away from him. I proceeded to call 911 and gave the police a report. He ended up watching me for a little bit and then drove off before all the cop cars showed up.

Ladies please be careful when exercising. I live in a good neighborhood and never thought this would have happened to me. When exercising you should always have your phone on you of you are by yourself. He was a normal looking guy who was younger around my age (23). He wasn't anyone that looked like a creeper or a weirdo. He wasn't playing a joke...it was so serious.

I was so freaked out that I couldnt really give much detail other than what he was driving and the color of the vehicle. I will next time snap a quick picture of the vehicle or try and memorize the license plate. They tried to find him by my description...just hope they did!

I didnt realize that the question was meant to be perverted until afterwards :( so noone ever try to answer it! Lol

I'm sorry that happened; I know it can be a freak-out. When I was in college, I worked at a Burger King on the night shift. There were stories about a guy who would come through the drive-through lane without any pants on, just to provoke a horrified reaction from the girls working the counter. One night, yep, there he was--I was surprised to see "Mr Happy" right there--so surprised that I "accidentally" tossed the contents of a large, cold soda directly onto his lap. I still don't know what made me do that--it was sort of an instinctive thing. He drove off in a hurry. We called the police; a nice young officer showed up quickly, took my report, started snickering, and went to go round the guy up--evidently he was well known to the police, and he hadn't bothered to take the plates off his car or anything. I never saw him again, so maybe we cooled his Burger King craving...

But seriously, if you feel threatened or in danger in any way, take a friend with you to exercise! If it had happened to me the way it happened to you, I'd probably change my route for a few days and definitely take a friend and be on the lookout for creepy man with my camera in hand.

Holy cow that's crazy! Glad your okay! I live in NYC so I'm unfortunately used to seeing all sorts of crazy things and have encountered my share of weirdos on the subway. There was a homeless guy who would ride my train line who liked to flash people. Sure enough I get on an empty train car and he gets on and it's flashing time! Luckily the conductor was right next to my car and he came out and called the cops. I also was on te train once around 5 am (crazy people always are out at this time lol) and in a semi full train I say across from a guy who was rubbing himself very noticeably though his jeans. I just got off and waited for the next train. There are so many crazy people out...Just glad you were okay. I agree maybe try a different route for a while just incase.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
