Splenda works for me. and I was told no caffeine too. I haven't had any in a while, so if I should sip a glass of tea, I am not having Decaf. It just tastes different to me and no more than what I do drink, a little caffeine I don't think will hurt me every now and then.

I use Splenda and really don't notice a difference. Also, Sugar in the Raw is sugar. It is just not as refined as granulated sugar. It is still in a more raw form. However, it does qualify as sugar.

I am from Canada so you may have to look it up but I get it from Community Natural foods....the brand I use is from the same makers as Zylitol it tastes and acts like brown sugar but is low glycemic like everything coconut and does not effect blood sugars at all..It is also natural....very good....

Thanx everyone! Yeah I have tried all your suggestions except agave, I see my nutritionist this Friday. I have been "off" real sugar for a long time now, I hope I get use to something soon. Thanx all!

Truvia is the safest of the highly marketed sweeteners, since it is made from Stevia. I think straight stevia is disgusting, but Truvia is really good and does not put any of your vital organs in danger.

Avoid agave. It's bad news. You can read more about the safety of sweeteners at yeastinfectionadvisor.com. I also have a lengthy email on the subject if you want to know more about the different ones.

I can not stand artificial sweeteners but we really like stevia in the raw. It is crystals not powder and you don't need much. My husband was a 4 tsp sugar in coffee kind of guy but is now using one packet of stevia in the raw. No chemical taste to me. Hope that helps.

The thing to remember is that Stevia is not an "artificial" sweetener. It comes from a plant just like sugar and is all natural, there are no chemicals in it. It just so happens to be a calorie-free sweetener. If you are eating Splenda, Equal, or Sweet & Low - THOSE are chemically based artificial sweeteners. If you read up on them, you will find that they have tar, arsenic, and all kinds of crazy sh^t. IMO, go with Stevia or organic sugar (turbinado; "sugar in the raw").

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
