missmachine got a reaction from LVL in Incision Is Healing As Open HoleI am 2 weeks out - one of my incisions (different from the other one I posted about a few days ago) is healing all opened up. Instead of scabbing over, the scab is contoured in with the incision, which is a 1 inch long open hole and about 1.5centimeter deep. It looks like a bullet wound or something. I am worried I will have a permanent hole/indentation there even after its completely healed. This is really freaking me out. I had my surgery in MX and I have no Dr here because I don't have insurance. Should I go to the ER? Please advise!

First time in a while that I feel slightly ok with getting in front of the camera, so I don't really have a good before body picture.

missmachine got a reaction from MommaMeg01 in I Wish I Could See The Difference!I have lost 43 lbs, from 250-207, which is awesome, but I really can't see a difference and I am still wearing all the same clothes (albeit, with a belt). Its just really discouraging to have done so much work and still be a big fat person. No one has noticed or said anything. Although, i think if they did i would be embarrassed. The few people I have told that I lost 40 lbs, they give me a look like I am lying and they size me up and down. I have still so far to go, I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, and I just have a hard time believing I will ever get there... Like, I'll just stop losing at some point, or the surgery won't work anymore, etc. I dream about having confidence and self-esteem again, but in my head, there's no way it could ever happen for me. The other thing is, I know that even if I lose weight, my body is still gonna look like ****, and I'm still going to hate myself. I don't have any money for plastics. I want to be beautiful. I want a taste of what that feels like. I'm sorry to be a downer today.

To stretch your sleeve you would have to regularly eat to the point of pain. Even doing that it would STILL be tough to stretch this very un-stretchy part of the stomach, because you're more likely to simply toss up those extra bites than keep them uncomfortably sitting in your smaller tummy long enough to do lasting damage.
That said, it's important to learn your new full signals and stop before you get to that point. We all take a little time to do this and it's normal to overdo it a few times before learning exactly when to stop. Certain foods swell in the stomach and cause issues. I have a real problem with Pasta and tortillas. Some people have an issue with scrambled eggs or bread.
My full signals are a runny nose, the hiccups or a feeling of tightness in my chest. If I go beyond that, I'll toss it back up or suffer discomfort.

missmachine got a reaction from Celaine47 in I Wish I Could See The Difference! You guys were right... I went to Target today and bought some new jeans, two sizes smaller than I was pre surgery. I could definitely see a difference when I was wearing them, and it cheered me up a little. It's crazy how wearing the same clothes will keep you from seeing the changes! I didn't want to buy any new stuff until absolutely necessary, because I really don't have much money. That was great though
