August 13Th Sleever!

Recommended Posts

Well folks' date=' I was an August 13th sleever. However, I've been in the hospital all week after finding out I have a large blood clot in my leg and some in my lungs as well. I won't be having my surgery after all. :/ I will need to be on blood thinners and have my blood counts routinely checked for at least the next six months. But I'm not giving up. I've lost 17.5 pounds so far and I will not let this bring me down. I believe it was God's way of telling me this wasn't the right path for me to take. This came out of nowhere and I am otherwise healthy so I am so thankful it was caught when it was, before very very bad things came of it. I wish all of you the very best, and hope to still keep in touch with y'all.[/quote']

Stay encouraged and prayed up. Best of luck to you.

How is everyone?

Doing so much better, 2 days post-op, than I would've expected. Discharged this morning, got home this afternoon. I am tired, but not in pain, and able to tolerate fluids with the sip-wait technique advised by Dr. Alvarez.

How is everyone else?

How is everyone? For me doing better every day! Does anyone have any hunger? Stated to get hungry yesterday. It's kind of scaring me. It may just be head hunger. Have been drinking Water and Protein like I'm supposed to. I'm sure it will work out' I just want to do everything right.

Hello all I was an August 13th sleever and each day is getting better for me. I'm finding it really hard to get all my Protein in, but I'm making sure I get as much as I can and staying hydrated.

Hello, I am a August 13th sleever also. I am so happy and excited for this new start in my life. Still have some pain but everyday is better. Wanting to find some good purée stage recipes, so sick of Soup and broth. Ready to move on!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
