  1. I am 9 months post op and I've lost 80lbs the only problem is that in the past 3 months I haven't lost a thing! I know this is partially due to my habits. So, how do I recover and kick start my weight loss again? I have 40 more to go to my goal weight and I'd like to get there but I can't seem to figure out how to break this stall. I don't know what calories I should be taking in etc. I did join a gym and was doing really well with going until I got a new job and I've been working 6 12 hr night shifts a week....this will hopefully be changing soon.... I'm thankful I haven't gained but I'm flustered I'm not losing either. Also I have so saggy lose skinny (nothing over the top) do you think with weight/resistance training this will tighten up? It's mainly the tops of my thighs that bother me, my stomach is to be expected since I have kids....

  4. Immediately post op in the Recovery Room my pain was a 10/10 but it was in my back. I also felt I couldnt breathe. So they gave me a heat pad for my back and some more meds to sedate me better. By the time I got to my room, my pain was a 5, but that slowly went down to a 3 and i stayed there throughout the night. Yesterday was my 2ns day and the day I went home. I could tell a difference being off the PCA pump, but its more achey than pain. I walked around the park yesterday and today. It helps. I was also able to shwer today so I feel better. My plan is to just take it easy, cough and deep breathe, walk and relax. My goal is to avoid pain meds today. We'll see.
  5. Mine went well. I'm home today.
  6. My surgery went well. I do remember waking up feelin like I couldn't breathe and my back was KILLING me but I was allowed a heat pad to lay on and it helped
  7. I was told by my NUT 3 oz every 15 mins.

  9. It could also be gas. You could jus carry it in your back. I had it and it was far more worse than my abdomen.
  10. Had my surgery on Monday the 13th at 730am and I was discharged home today at noon. I'm exhausted and in pain, and I'm struggling getting in my fluids around the fact im so sleepy. Any suggestions?
  11. Today is my first day on a clear liquid preop diet. i work nights and thankfully it's my Friday but I am mentally hungry. I've been eating jello like crazy!
  12. I am Aug 13th as well! I am having my last meal as we speak. I work nights. I start my preop diet in the morning. 3 days of clear liquid.
  13. So, part of me wants to just make a "tell all" status update on FB about my upcomng surgery. The other part of me is afraid of the responses. Should I tell people? Should I not? Anyone have experience?
  14. August 13th. I am getting nervous. I'd never admit that to my family, but it's true! I start my clear liquid preop diet on Friday. I've loaded up on popscicles, Jello and crystal light. LOL Bad news... aunt flo is making her appearance, so this liquid diet is going to SUCK! Not to mention surgery during time of the month isn't ideal either especially having surgery with people I used to work with. LMAO! Oh well.. such is life! I just didn't want to have to deal with that during recovery. Heres to hoping it's an easy one this month. I'm very nervous about what to expect after the surgery.
  15. I havent had surgery yet, but I am a RN and most hospitals provide you what you need in the hospital. The key is to bring as little "needed" as possible I reccomend chapstick... you're gonna need that! and some comfy clothes to leave the hospital in.
