I wrote through his website asking for information a week ago. Finally on Tuesday, I got a reply that they got my message and would be sending me some information.

Still waiting. Is this a typical response from them?

I usually get really fast replies so this has surprised me since it was a basic inquiry (when coordinators/doctors just forward typical intro forms/information).

I like prompt answers so it makes me hesitant to even consider his practice, but I figured I would ask if this is the norm.

I appreciate all of you writing about your experiences.

I only plan on taking 1 person with me' date=' and he is there to support me after surgery. This is whether I stay in state or go to Mexico.

All I really care about is a skilled surgeon who has a record of minimal complications/deaths. And then, of course, communication.

Id hate for you to miss out on a great surgeon because of a communication issue. If you want to msg me your number, I'll text Omar personally. I just got done talking to him, today is his only day off

No read again, she listed out everything Omar was doing which included 3 then 4 families. He was being run into the ground so to speak because there was so much going on with everybody. The girl with extra people just felt like it was directed torwards her because she had x-tea people. It was not.

Like I said, it was the WAY she worded this. It hurt that woman's feelings. And instead of anyone being nice to her she got run off. Which is what too many ppl on this forum do.

By the woman's post u could tell she was upset and offended and then instead of a real apology ppl kept dumping on her about how she was taking it wrong.

Right then someone could have explained that sunny was not just referring to her, but to everyone etc. but like always it didn't happen.

Ok ok...I think we ALL need to let it go!!! Benin is REALLY not going to want to pick a doctor with all of this off the course bickering. Everything in these forums are OPINIONS, and we are now off the original question!!!

I told Omar my complaints before we left. He did apologize, and hopefully their operation will be better organized in the future. I understand that it will take some time for them to fine tune their operation, but I wish my expectations and experience were different.

What some of you may or may not know' date=' is Dr Kelly is still recovering from major coordinator bashing, so he (and Omar) are reluctant to tell people no. if extra family is coming, it shouldnt have any bearing on the Dr or his assistant. It should be up to the people coming to take care of themselves! The package accomodates one extra, and acting as a tour guide isnt part of the deal for the extras people bring. Omar is very kind and accommodating, and sometimes its to a fault, he is only human lol. The way I thought if it was, this is not a mini vacation, this is a life saving/changing procedure, and if I had nothing more than the surgery, aftercare, and hotel stay I would still have received more than my moneys worth. I wouldnt worry about my support person being bored, its not about them, theres a tv, books and games they can play to krrp them occupied; and if that's an issue for anyone, then leave them home or have them get a hotel at their own expense. and this isnt directed towards you directly, you will have a great surgery, and isnt that what this whole deal is about? With all do respect, sonny was simply stating the sequence of events. The woman with 3 family members arrived last, therefor was listed last followed by how busy Omar was. I suppose she could have said a woman came with 3 family members and before her there were 3 of us already there. So then it could have been our fault. The point is it was nobody's fault. There were a lot of us and he was busy. And Sonny did express that she didn't mean for her words to bash anybody practically immediately. She has no reason to apologize for people being sensative to something they misread.

Just a side note, your choosing a dr and his small family business. It is personal and professional. As business is picking up, they have help coming for extra hands as we speak. The care you get weather you take one person or more is amazing. More demands, means more work..and its nothing any other bigger agency would do or a us doctor. He took time to bring me back to san diego during a holiday weekend and we spent hours talking, what a amazing dr and man.

Just caught the end of this thread because I was yahooing Dr. Kelly. It directed me to "alighterme" but no mention of the doc on that sight. If someone were to fill out the info request on alighterme sight it is doubtful that Dr. Kelly to Omar would even get the message. Much better to use the phone.

Yes! DO NOT contact alighterme with regatd to Dr Kelly. He is not affiliated with them at all. They just use his image to trick his potential patients into booking with them, all the while, they will set you up with one of their contracted drs. I dpoke with Dr k about this, and he said he'd need to start legal action

Yes this is accurate information.

I have been in contact with Omar several times since Sunday. After calling him (due to problems with my computer emailing) he immediately emailed me information. He texted to follow-up on a couple of questions I had. However, when I tried to email back my email was rejected. I finally emailed my information to his alternate email address. I would highly suggest calling. He is extremely friendly and helpful. I am always leary about putting my phone number out there due to sales pressure, unwanted calls, etc. I have not had any regret calling them.

Sorry to hear about all the problems. What I can tell you is that Dr. Kelly is the most awesome doctor and I would put up with a lot of inconveniences to have him operate on anyone I know that needed the surgery. My daughter is thinking about having it done and Dr. Kelly is the only choice we would consider. She was with me when I had mine done, she met him, loved him, and she sees what a great recovery and success I've had. He is the best!

And no one could think more highly of Omar than I do (well, probably a lot of you probably feel the same). But Omar is the Dr.'s assistant, he does not directly provide medical care. I bet with all of the running around he did, he still checked on the patients still in the hospital. But, really, what is he going to do for you in the hospital? Yes, he can contact the Dr. if need be, but you are in the hospital, there is always a Dr. there. We had a lovely young woman Dr. there while I was there and she and I had lovely lengthy conversations.

He is also just a phone call away.

While we were there, we did want to run around and see things, but patient needs were always first. He would say, I have to stop by the hospital for someone for example or take someone for their leak test, then he would tell us when he was available to take us sightseeing.
