  1. For me, the only choice was Dr Kelly. He and his team were amazing and went above and beyond. I did not have a typical run of the mill surgery. I had a 7 yr old band, old infection from port that ran my entire stomach with scar tissue. He removed the band, port, scar tissue and spent 4 times the time he usually does to make sure things were right. I had a total of 4 leak tests. Dr kelly has skills that I never have come across in oregon. His coordinator was there for me each step. He called my children after surgery to reassure them of my care. Do research, see what feels good to you and enjoy your change in your life. Only you know what is best for you.
  2. I'm 10 days post op, and I'm going back to work. Most of my job is desk work, but not all. I had a serious issue with band removal but no problems post op.
  3. Questionaire is the old one, not a big deal. Florence hospital is the hospital group. They use it just as a preop. Fill it put then dr kelly calls you
  4. Just a side note, your choosing a dr and his small family business. It is personal and professional. As business is picking up, they have help coming for extra hands as we speak. The care you get weather you take one person or more is amazing. More demands, means more work..and its nothing any other bigger agency would do or a us doctor. He took time to bring me back to san diego during a holiday weekend and we spent hours talking, what a amazing dr and man.
  5. Pam, good to hear your home. Yes, on our way to beach now. I did have drain, due to my horrible band that had been badly placed and horrible scar tissue.. only dr kelly could do what he did.
  6. Just returned from a life changing experience. Dr kelly is an amazing caring and very dedicated doctor. He went well above any dr in the us. He fixed a horrible lap band issue, scar tissue and more. I had my sleeve july 4th, and the entire experience was a plus. Omar, is a kind, caring, hard working man who does more than anyone I've met. He took care of my fears and doubts. I went alone, and the team was there for me. Dr kelly and his family drove me to san diego tonight, and what a amazing conversation and person he is. You will NOT be disappointed
  7. So glad to hear you both are doing well. I'm so excited, but can't believe it is really true and just a few days away. Btw, passport card came today, so I'm all set
  8. I have applied for my passport card but have no idea if it will come in time. I was told by a few people if I have my drivers license and original birth certificate, I will be allowed back into us...anyone else know if that is true? And if I get my card in time do I still need the additional id?
  9. My kids have seen me struggle with keeping foods down with my band, so they already know the drill. They will be fine, I like the skype idea. I have it on my phone. I don't have time for a passport so I'm anxious about that and of course just making it through the surgeryy.
  10. Thank you for answers. Im worried about not having a passport but have been assured it will be ok. I feel confident in dr. Kelly, just usual fears that are compounded by my 9 yr old afraid I wont make it back to him.
  11. Im scheduled for surgery the 4th of july with Dr. Kelly... I wasnt worried but now I am starting to. I have a lap band to be removed I have had for 7 yrs no symptoms but worried about complications or not being able to do surgery for things like a erosion... Now my kids are getting worried, im a single mom and they are scared I am going by myself. I have to admit, I am also. Id love to know how your experiences are, crossing back into the boarder and any other info would be appreciated. I am also worried about it working, since I did start at 415 with the band, went to 200 and now 265.. Ive always disliked my band and hate not being able to know when im going to throw up what ive eaten. Thanks in advance
