Fat Guacamole Devils

Recommended Posts

Recently found this recipe on Mark's Daily Apple - which is devoted to eating primal - a way of eating I have been moving towards for a while - with Protein first as my cardinal rule - after one of my good friends who is a firefighter raved about it (her gang at work eats primal, and the are crossfit folks - cannot imagine people more fit.)

Hilarious name - and I have not tried these yet but they look yummy.

My those do look delicious. I think when I go to my friend Sam's birthday party I'm going to bring some of those. He usually has guacamole and deviled eggs so this will be a surprise treat.

The recipe is just peachy, but THAT WEBSITE!!!! I'm going on that regimen, fo you grok? LOL

Seriously, there is some good information on that site and it's not difficult to follow either nor is it restrictive. It encompasses much more than diet.

Now I have to continue the cholesterol fight with my PCP who think that despite losing 75 pounds I must eat more carbs because my cholesterol is high. He also thinks my dead normal blood sugar and A1C is just a fluke and I'm diabetic.

I started pre-surgery eating this way - and after surgery I need to get back to it (still have the icky shakes to deal with to get the Protein in) - it is amazing how much better you feel when you start to follow the blueprint.

when I eat white flour/bread it is like I have been darted by a big game hunter haha.

BTW... a little tip for making perfectly centered eggs. Buy a carton of eggs. or however many eggs you plan on making, and rest them on their side over night before you boil them, so the yolk can settle in the center of the shell. That way the hollow part is centered in the half egg white sections rather than to the larger end. A little trick I learned from my grandmother years ago.

And I will be making these tomorrow. already bought all the fixings!

OK Just made them and they're in the fridge chilling. I tasted a spoonful of the green goo I had left from stuffing the eggs and it was AWESOME! I made one Dozen eggs so the family gets to try them as well.

Only things i did differently... i added 2 minced cloves of garlic, and I don't care for real chunky guacamole so I processed it down till it was near smooth.

Thanks for the tip about centering the yolk - I picked up an avocado shopping today but it is hard as a rock and needs to ripen a bit - so it is grilled chicken with a tiny pomodoro salad for me for dinner (sliced roma Tomato, buffalo mozzerella, and basil with a splash of olive oil and cracked pepper - yum)

Good to know those fat devils will be yummy :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
