How much weight did you have to loose before someone noticed? I started at 330 my heaviest, 326 surgery weight on May 17, I am now 294 as of today but noone seems to notice. People who know I have had the surgery as me how much I have lost but noone seems to see a difference. I know I didn't do this for other people but I would still like for it to be noticed that I am getting leaner. Anyone else?

It took until about 280 for someone to notice my loss outside of immediate family. I started at 352 pre-surgery.

One thing that really helped for me was to stop dressing as frumpy. Before, I dressed as if I had to cover every single inch of skin. Now, I'm actually wearing short sleeve shirts and shorts and showing a little skin. I also make it a point to buy pants that fit as I go down a size, both jeans and work pants, even if it's only 1-2 pair of each. Having clothes that fit instead of bag makes a big difference in how much people notice the loss, IMO.

Totally agree with Lissa. Ive always worn shirts that were long to cover my belly and butt. They really do make u look even bigger. I've started to wearing shirts a little shorter and more people comment on my weight loss. Because its more noticeable with clothes that arent so baggy

Hey I am 5'9" tall. I started at 329lbs in Feb of this year. Size 42 pants and XXXL shirts. I swear to you as long as you control your diet its fool proof. I exercise a bit but nowhere near what I should. I have a weird life. Nothings on a schedule besides my work and my workout days are hit n miss because of my job.

I didnt buy any new clothes up until yesterday. I am in a XL shirt which is kinda loose but the Large is a little to tight. Now as far as pants. 34waist. Thats amazing. I am the same size as when I was 20 years old. Which is 12 years ago LoL. But I do have excess skin that I am dealing with. I didnt realize that I lost that much until yesterday. Just stick to the low carb, low fat high Protein diet and you will be golden.

Remember you are the only person that can make this tool work. If you cheat thats going to lead to bad habits so treat all the bad stuff like its going to kill you. Works for me.

Oh yeah I am married but I get hit on alot now. So thats verification enough for me

Have a good journey

Hi,

Don't worry if no one says anything about your weight loss. You know how well you're doing - and that's all that matters. Some people mention it to me - and some people don't say a word. Sometimes people are afraid to say anything cause they're afraid they may insult you by even mentioning the word "weight". People aren't interested in you - they're interested in them. That's been my experience. Just keep plugging away. They'll notice soon enough!!

i haven't bought any new clothes because I keep saying I am gonna wear these scrubs till they fall off of me THEN i will spend the money on new ones, I am kinda enjoying my clothes being big on me since I haven't had that in FOREVER. I can't wait until I get wold whistles and stares because I am "sexy" and not because I am big. I am also married but they will have to learn to ignore it LOL. I am trying very hard to stick to eating healthy. I haven't had candy, chips, white rice (and I live in Louisiana where we eat EVERYTHING w/rice, lol), Pasta, cakes, pies. I have had frozen yogurt as a treat occasionally but just the yogurt no toppings and only about 3 ozs.

I am from the Lafayette area myself. The good thing for us is that our local seafood restaurants can grill everything they offer vs fried. A grilled seafood platter $26 bucks. But it lasts me 3 days. Not bad. I eat out all the time when home. But its always grilled seafood and only a couple bites at a time. Your gonna do good

I started my 2 week pre-op at 383 (yikes), I was 368 day of surgery (yikes), and I'm 25 days post of and I weigh 347 (yikes). So I've lost 36 pounds total in about 5 weeks, and I haven't noticed a difference. My mom said she definitely sees a difference, but she might just want to make me feel better lol. I keep thinking that all of my healthy sized friends would be twigs and multiple sizes smaller if they lost almost 40lbs, but I know I can't compare myself to others.

I understand where you coming from it will take time for people to see it. All that counts is that you notice your hard work!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
