I'm about 4.5 months out and I recently started trying salad greens. It went down fine--it's not really that they disagree with me, it's more that with having to prioritize protein, I rarely have room for "extras" like that. But I missed the taste of salad, so I had some. Same rules apply--chew really well, pause between bites to help gauge when you've had enough...hope this helps.

Ello does anyone know when after surgery we can eat green salads?

I am 3 montbs out and was told I have no restrictons in eating, but still need to get all my Protein first, that a priority

I love salads and it was one of the biggest things I missed after surgery. I tried at 6 weeks post op and everything went down fine. I had no issues at all and tend to eat at least one small salad with grilled chicken or salmon every day.

Wow, 6 weeks getting salad in!!! I can't even imagine it at this time. I'm 3 weeks still on full liquids and will find out tomorrow when I get to move on to pureed. I have it written in my book somewhere that I move on to pureed at 5 weeks, and I'm hoping against hope that I wrote it down wrong. My next appt. is July 9th with the nurse & nutritionist, so it makes sense that the surgeon will see me and I may have written it down correctly that I am on full liquids 5 full weeks before I get to move on to pureed, then goes soft then goes regular food.

Wow. Doctors are so darn different. At this rate I'm hoping I get mushy Tuna in 6 weeks.

Salads and pickles are probably the things I miss most right now. It gives me hope for the future ;)

Me too, I have salads all the time, and I was about 5 weeks out ( I think...) when I tried it for the first time, no issues at all, just couldnt eat much of the greens after getting the protein in so make it small so you dont have to waste ( I learned that the hard way, I hate to throw away food!) Good luck
