I got the Hair loss at just over 4 months post-op. It's still coming out pretty easily. It's not like you go bald or anything. My hair is just a bit flat. Heck, I'd go bald if it mean I could lose the weight. I have some wicked bandanas.

Dooter -- the top of your head looks just like the top of mine!

The hair shed started a little over a month ago for me and I got some of that nioxin stuff with sunscreen in it to protect my scalp. I don't think the Shampoo and conditioner (nioxin) is doing a thing for me but I'm using it anyway.

I don't want to do the Biotin because I don't want more of a jungle elsewhere! yikes!!

Oh, indeed. I look now, at pictures taken 4 years ago when I was at my lapband low (about 80 lbs lighter than I am today) and I think "Wow, I look... normal...or maybe kinda chubby..." but at the time, I thought I looked ridiculously fat still. It's all relative. I look at pants I wore then and I'm like - no way that ever fit me, it's like -- normal! But at the time I rembmer packing for a trip and holding the pants in front of me to fold and thinking, "Ugh these are huh-yoooge!"

Best is now when I look at those "tiny" pants and I think there's no chance they will ever fit again, and I know that when they do fit I'll be like "Huh yeah they must've stretched out."

Our stinking thinking gets in the way.

OH! I do that too! "They stretched out." Or....the other day, I bought a size 20 Gloria's from costco (I know--Costco fashionista, right??) and when they actually fit me I thought, "well, these are either cut wrong, or their sizes just run really big." No ya dork! You wear a 20!!!

SORRY---RABBIT TRAIL!!!

I'm almost 4 months out and I am losing tons of hair its actually very scary because my hair was bleached platinum blond and I always lost a lot anyways but when I had surgery I dyed it close to natural color just in case I started losing it and boy oh boy am I losing it. Has anyone really got to the point of bald or in need of a wig? I am hoping that it slows down and I have been really trying to get in Protein to help but it is tough :) like another said on here I will take the Hair loss in order to lose weight just wondering if I really am going to go bald.

I'm 5 months out and am thinning very badly. I get all my Protein in and my nails look fantastic. I remember my doc saying your nails will be the first sign to see if you are getting enough protein. So, I have that covered. I also have PCOS and had already lost quite a bit of my thick locks a while back. I know I'll never regrow that loss. I'm just hoping that I regrow what I'm losing now. I didn't realize how bad the back was until my son freaked out and said he could see my skin. Hoping it starts growing back soon.

With the band I lost hair at about the 4 month mark and it was back by 8-9 months. My new surgeon has me taking Biotin daily to help prevent this, it's a small gel cap that's easy to swallow

I've lost loads and loads and LOADS of hair. It's regrowing a bit by now, but it's also still falling out. Gah!! It's also completely changed texture -- it's all fluffy and curly and goes frizzy instead of being wavy and shiny. Sheesh. But I could do much worse than losing some hair, so I'll take it...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
