Cooking For One.

Recommended Posts

The biggest hurdle I've found in my new cooking regime is having so much food. One can of retried Beans is like 8 meals. So I figured I would use ice trays to freeze foods like chili, Soup, veggies, quiche, beans, etc. It works great because I can thaw out one or two "cubes" depending on how much I am going to eat. Plus it's cheaper and easier to store than a ton of bowls that hold too much food.

That's a good tip! I have a family to feed but I still find myself "cooking for one" because I don't generally eat what they eat.

I found some trays on Amazon (and some different ones in Target) that allow you to freeze "baby" food. I purchased both sets because I figured that they would be helpful during this process. The ones that I found came in different sizes. So far, I have found 1-3 oz containers. You can warm the food up in the individual containers. The one from Target has a tray (and lids) like an ice tray.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
