Has anyone else experienced pain in one or both of your hips after surgery?

I'm 4.5 weeks post op and I have pain that I never had before. I'm down 50 pounds and you'd think that would make it better for my bones and joints! It seems to get worse every day - at first it was just my left hip the last 2 weeks and now my right hip hurts. Maybe just because I'm overcompensating...I don't know. I haven't done any exercise except walking and even then, I'm not walking all that much.

I've tried tylenol and icy hot rub. They help a little but I'd love to know the cause. Thanks! :)

I have been noticing pain in my hips as well when I wake up in morning. I've also noticed it when I sit in one place to long on my tailbone. I've NEVER had that problem before! I don't know if it is because pressure from the bones being closer to the surface of our legs or just the drastic change in body composition pulling Calcium from our bones.

Yep, the pain is caused by the fact that your bones are now exposed (less fat to cover them) and they are in contact with or rubbing against things they wouldn't have been bothered by before. My left hip hurts if I lay on it for too long these days. I just turn to the other side during the night. No big deal. :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
