How Long Do I Need To Take Off From Work?

I am trying to figure out how many days I will need to take off from work to recover from the surgery. I don't do any lifting at work but I do have to drive about an hour each way and interact with several customers throughout the day. How much time did you take off? How did you feel when you returned? I hear many people say that they have very low energy and are too tired to make it through the day. Any recommendations

I took a week of vacation.... I was tired but I did fine.

I took 5 weeks.. :) I took 1 week of vacation. I have submitted short term disability papers to the state of Cali. I am hoping that I am approved. As long as I get the std, my job will pay me the remainder of whatever the std doesn't so I will get full pay.

I'm off work for 2.5 weeks but I'm fortunate that I am able to work on a laptop from home, so I only had to take sick days for the days I wasn't feeling well enough to work.
