We usually Celebrate Mothers. Day as all things with a ton of food. The kids make me Breakfast, we go out for dinner etc. this has been hard on me but also hard on my kids. The little ones don't really get it and my almost 8 year old is sad that she can't make me Cookies. It makes me sad to think we can't figure out a way to celebrate the day without food. The plan was to go to the botanical gardens but it will be storming so no go. I think we now plan to go swim at the y if there is no lightning and my daughter and I will go get pedicures. It sounds really fun but I can't help but miss what used to be. A new normal.

How far post op are you? Maybe you and your daughter can make Cookies and give them away to other moms?? So you can't eat your way through mothers day, but think of all you do have. Maybe you can take some of those cookies to a nursing home, if not for lonely residents, I'm sure there are a lot of working moms on duty tomorrow.

Pedicures are a great decadent celebration. Will your husband go with you? Mine will. Some men do that.

I saw some great Snacks idea at eggface's website the other day. You could maybe try some of those?

Try planting flowers and herbs, or take a hike with the family! It's all about family time not the food!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
