Me too.....counting the hours with you!! I have to be at the hospital at 5:30am. My friend who has had the surgery is going with me and staying the night in the hospital with me. I have confidence in my doctor. Saying a prayer for you and all others having surgery this week. Will anyone be with you at thevhospital, blonde gal? All the best and God speed!

Good luck to you both. Keep yourselves busy today and try not to think about tomorrow. Before you know it you will be out of surgery and recovering.

Thank you all. Just got off work and moving into my surgery pre-paredness mode for tomorrow morning. I'm packing very light. I'm not nervous yet--that will probably happen when I put on the hospital gown and get on the rolling bed with the little curtain divider. I will report in with you all tomorrow or Wednesday.

Thank you everyone this definately was harder than I expected. The air bubbles in my abdomen is the worse pain I only had to stay in hospital 24 hours cause I was doing so well. I'm feeling pretty good today and can't wait to weigh myself that's the most exciting part! Artsy how are you feeling??

Gentle hugs to you blondegal. Thank you for letting us know how you are doing. I don't know if the air bubbles you are dealing with are anything like what you deal with after you have other types of laparoscopic surgery done, but I feel your pain. Have had many procedures done this way and the gas left behind ( excuse me), HURTS LIKE HELL!!!!! Ok sorry just had to say that. Have you tried gas-x, if you can use it? The first time I had anything done with laparscopy, my sister was with me. She had had the same thing done previously and told me what I would need after I got home. I was shocked when I found out her solution for the pain but it worked lol. She made me a HUGE cup of hot tea laced with whiskey, and laced is the understatement. Maybe I should say made me a cup of whiskey laced with tea? lol Have to say it worked or I just didn't care any more hahaha. I'm not saying to do this but would be a nice idea if we could :) Hope you get to feeling better.

Blondegal, each day is better than the one before. My first day in the hospital was rough. My daughter was even upset with the pain& nausea I had but I received lots of meds and it was over the next day. I do have gas now but the only help for that is walking and more walking. Also gasX is a help. I've noticed since surgery I have night sweats --- that is nothing serious but i didn't have them before. I'm sipping a lot and keeping hydrated. My dr told me not to fret about Protein this week. I'll be off work until May 22. Hopefully I'll be 100% by then--I'm on my way. Yesterday I went to Target for a few supplies, then did some laundry and loaded the dishwasher. Today will be my first time to drive. Best of luck and healing hugs to you! Artsey

P.S. the first day I was knocked out most of the time--so the difficult pain is a blur now. TMI: I've had my first little poo today--that was a goal of mine for the weekend..

I know you'll do great.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
