Yes, it's totally normal! I was so scared, the day of, as I was getting my IV put in I felt like I wanted to run out of there! But, I remembered everyone here telling me it was normal and that they had the same type of feelings so I didn't read into it. It's surgery and we go into a situation of having "no control" where eveyone is "doing things to us" like IV's, carting us around, cuting into us :-) , so we're human. We are going to have that fear response.

Hang in there!!!!! Sending lots of good thougts your way!!!!

Really just take a few deep breaths. Relax, before you know it the procedure will be done and over with, and you will quickly on the road to recovery.

Thank you guys soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much. It means alot to have people that ive never met care and give an encouraging word. It means even more because you all have "BEEN THERE DONE THAT" alot of people don't understand the emotions that come with such a surgery. I sincerely thank you all from the bottom of my heart.. Im ready for the loser's bench :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
