Frozen Yogurt In Shakes?

Recommended Posts

I am a newbie here. acutally I am still waiting on prelimanary approval from ins. My questions are 1. can you add frozen fat free yogurt in Protein Shakes? and 2. how many do you drink a day? I have started drinking one every night in place of a supper meal and I find them quite good if I doctor them up with fruit or yogurt.

I think it would depend on the calories and carbs you are adding. Are you talking pre op or post op?

Your pre-op diet will depend on your surgeon and nutritionist. I am not allowed to add frozen yogurt or fruit to my shakes. My mom, who had lapband surgery a few years ago, was allowed to have fruit with hers.

I wouldn't put any frozen yogurt in my shakes due to the sugar content. I got the surgery to help reduce calories and decrease my sugar so that I'm not diabetic anymore. However, I want to keep my weight moving off me. ;)

Ditto to dorrie robles. Don't add frozen yogurt to your shakes. There are so many other items you can add that make it healthier and low fat. For instance, SF flavored Syrup (like what they add in coffee shops but make sure you get the SF) or SF Jello packets - yes, that's right, they add flavor for you w/o adding too many calories. The frozen yogurt just adds calories is why I said what I did.

I wouldn't do it, either. I'd rather add actual fruit, like frozen strawberries or blueberries, or Peanut Butter if I wanna spice up a shake. Unsweetened cocoa powder is also good - it's also high in Fiber.< /p>

IDK that about cocoa powder! I need the fiber so thank you (I'm just not huge on chocolate). But it sounds better than mirolax! lol

I talked to my nutritionist about this and she also discourages the low fat yogurt. Most often low fat means high sugar. They have to make it palatable in some way. She also discouraged juicing. People don't realize how much sugar fruit adds to a beverage and they don't consider that especially since its just a beverage. The only juice I have is a "Healthy Smart Light" apple juice that has 5gm of sugar per 8 oz. One of the main things I notice with people who don't watch out for the sugar intake, is they will complain the weight is coming off and they don't know why. Every little bit matters. I just found a Protein Shake I could tolerate and kept it ice cold.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
