Because of anxiety, I have been on Zoloft for the past two months and it has really helped. I know a lot of people gain weight when taking antidepressents and I have certainly noticed I have gained a little weight since I started taking it.

I am hoping to stop taking this altogether after my surgery because I don't want anything to impede weight loss. I was just wondering if anyone else had a similar situation and good give some feedback.

I had one son in Afghanistan and one in Iraq and need a little anxiety help last year. I can't say about Zoloft but the dr put me on Wellbutrin and I actually lost weight! Good luck

I was put on Zoloft for anxiety and depression due to a bad job situation... 5 months and 60 lbs later... I took myself off. Effexor added another 20. Now, I'm off all the meds, and I've gotten the sleeve, partly because the metabolic changes those drugs caused in my body did not reverse, and I was gaining on only about 1500 calories daily. I need the sleeve now to allow me to eat a small enough amount not to keep gaining. I'm pretty anti meds due to this.

I have generalized anxiety disorder. I have been on LOTS of different anti depressants over the years because of it and every single one made me gain weight except the one I switched to back in December. Its Celexa...only the generic brand. The issue with this one is fatigue which was pretty bad the first couple mths. Now its manageable. I found out after the fact that I could have talked to my doc to have the dosage reduced because of the fatigue which I still may have to do after surgery if it becomes an issue. But weight gain hasn't been an issue. Just feeling tired sometimes.

I have a huge anxiety problem and depression. I take zoloft and xanax, I just started zoloft not too long ago and since it has helped me loose a few lbs, when I took welbutrin it made me gain... I guess everybody reacts differently to meds? I hope you find the one that can help you out without gaining

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
