So my surgery date was rescheduled from April 9 to April 16th. That's cool its not a denial so I'm happy. At any rate I have gained approx 3 lbs since my last surgeon appt and since my insurance approved me. I'm sure its due to my menstrual and I'm positive I will loose it during my two week liquid diet that I start Monday. My question is if I gain weight prior to surgery can my insurance company or surgeon take my approval back?

No, they won't take the approval back. The insurance company won't even know your weight at the time of your surgery. Just be sure to follow your Dr's pre-op diet and you will be just fine.

Congrats and good luck!!

The surgeon can post pone it. But I believe it's about the bottom line of being $$$$$$$. There are probable other factors like, do you have a fatty liver? Just do your best to loose some weight. You will be fine. ;)

I dont think the insurance company would say anything...but my doctor had set a number I had to hit or he would cancel surgery...if your dr didnt say anything about pre-op weight loss you are fine...besides I think as long as you do exactly what you are suppose to on the two week preop you will be in great shape. I can go up a few pounds with my tom too.

Dont even worry about it, you are A-ok. Doesnt matter what you gain before the liquid diet, just as long as when you get there you follow it. Night before my liquid diet started and even the week before it started I was eating like it was the last supper. They will not take back your approval for a few pounds gained. :)

Thanks all I know ill loose the 3lbs plus but admittingly I have been terrible this week. Eating out and all just cause I can "last super syndrome" (even though it makes me sick after not doing it for 4 months). Vance I'm with you, bottom line they want that check. And since I have met my out of pocket max they will pay 100% I don't even think a truck driving through the surgery room would stop the show lol... Twoboysandagirl nope he just said continue to loose 5lbs a month until surgery last time I saw him and that was before approval

Man, I gained 10 or 11lbs from the time of my Jan approval to my March surgery. I don't recommend it but it happened.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
