To thistimeisit' date=' some of the shakes are giving me lots of gas. Syntrax do good, but chike bloats me terrible. I'm going to GNC and try their products. I was supposed to have been on Clear Liquids for two weeks, but she advanced me to full liquids since I have kept all liquids down. It's very hard getting 60-80grams Protein down, and 64 ounces Water or sugar free beverage down.[/quote']

Syntrax is the only Protein Shake I've been able to drink. Aside from Unjury chicken Soup protein.

Fannyf, your 64 oz of liquids can include Protein Drinks, broth, etc., it doesn't need to be "in addition to". Sometimes the post op instructions can be unclear about that.

I asked this somewhere else but no one replied. So hoping you all can help me...What can I eat for the soft foods stage that is lactose free? Right now I am mostly eating chicken & tuna salad, protien shakes, popsicles and applesauce. Even the cream Soups bother my stomach.

Have you tried getting the lactaid pills to see if they help with the lactose issue? I know they can be chewed as my mom has to do so before any dairy products. I am not sure that it is the lactose though that is bothering all of us with these dairy products as lactose usually acts up in the intestines, not the stomach.

Ummmm. Interesting. I feel your pain though. And egg salad just about killed me. I tried it myself two days ago. Sent me to bed and I had to take some Zofran I was so sick from it. On the other hand, the cream of chicken Soup is fine but potato, not so good on my tummy. Mashed potatoes on the other hand feel good on ky tum. So it is a bit odd how this is all working out.

Do you like rental soup? I love Progesso' s and plan to try that in my magic bullet today. Also, I am going to get some stoffers meatloaf in gravy and blend it as well to see how that goes as it is supper moist.

I'll pick up some lactaid pills today and see if it helps and let you all know.

I did get 60 grams of Protein down in shakes yesterday. Yippie. That was a first and tomorrow I will be starting week 3 post-op.

I had a gastric sleeve done April 24, 2012 at Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana. The day of surgery I went in at 283.5. Today, Sunday, April 29, 2012 I'm at an even 267 ! I think that's a little artificial because oven been on a strict clear liquid diet since last Sunday. My guess is it will keep dropping but slow down after I start in on the mush then solid food. The good news is that prior to the procedure I was taking on the order of 70-100 units of insulin, 20mg of glimiperide, and 2 50-1000 jamumets a day to keep my glucose below 200. This morning 155 and no insulin needed! That made the whole process worth it right there!

Lactose pills aren't working for me but I think they do for some people :( I will try lentil soup and scrambled eggs - never been much of an egg person but hoping tastes have changed. Trying to stay away from mashed potatoes but worst case I'll add them in as a few bites

Thanks for the suggestions :)

I was sleeved yesterday morning 4/28th. Everything went great & the day flew by. I woke up this morning with a severe back ache. My Doctor is taking wonderful care of me, and his assistant and nurses are wonderful. He has liaisons that speak English so we get what we need. Very little gas and tummy pain. Walk, walk, walk, sip, sip sip.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
