I was supposed to drink an 11oz bottle of magnesium citrate the day before surgery and then an enema the morning of surgery.... I honestly tried to drink that stuff but it was sooooo disgusting I couldn't do it. I didn't say anything to the Dr. and it didn't stop the surgery because the liquid diet before and then the enema helped clean me out :-)

There's a support group this Saturday @ 10 @ Mountain View Hospital :-)

He has a support group... He leads one every other month at mountain view and then theres another one every month at another hospital...I personally love him! Lol, I started with another center and just never felt comfortable. With Dr Hanna I saw him every time I went into the office. He's funny, nice, understanding, strict, everything you want your surgeon to be. Hi! I was sleeved 4/18 with Dr. Hanna at mountain view hospital :-)

I have an issue with sugar free stuff. Anytime I have something SF I get liquid diarrhea. So my NUT gave me the ok to stop and have regular foods.

I have Aetna also. My papers were sent in on a monday and I had my approval Thursday, so it took approximatly 3 days.

I was eating peanut butter after 2 weeks....not a lot, probably just a teaspoon and I ate it very slowly :-)

My husband stayed with me. Luckily at my hospital the Bariatric patients get private rooms so there was no problem with him staying. and like VACookey said it was wonderful having him there when I was puking and the nurses weren't paying attention to me. I got to go home the next afternoon so it wasn't too bad, but I am really glad he was there to help me through it all.

I also had to do a sleep study and then see a cardiologist for medical clearnce. At the cardiologists I had to do a stress test, breathing test, echocardiogram and an ultrasound of my cartoids. This is required by my surgeon, I don't know if all surgeons require that or not.

Congratulations! I have Aetna, already met my deductable and so far with my 10% the surgeon was $400 (paid in advance and it can change once the charges are submitted to insurance) and the hospital said I will need to pay $590...i don't think that includes the anestheologist which I think is another $100-$150...

I started this process 2 years ago but stopped because I didn't care for the Dr. that I chose. I started again in November with Dr. Hanna in Las Vegas and I am so happy! At the end of the month I am done with my 3 months supervised diet (was able to use the months from the previous try for a total of 6) so the Dr office sent off my redetermination on monday to Aetna and I got approved this morning!!! Woo Hoo!!! My surgery is scheduled for April 18th..I am sooo excited :-)
