Liquid Laxative

Did anyone have to drink the big bottle of liquid laxative before surgery? Did y'all drink it or pass? Being on liquids for 7 days do you really have to drink this mess?

I had to drink a bottle of mag citrate, it wasn't that big. It works pretty quickly, so stay clost to home! I would definitely follow the directions of your surgeon, everything they order is for a reason.

I was supposed to drink an 11oz bottle of magnesium citrate the day before surgery and then an enema the morning of surgery.... I honestly tried to drink that stuff but it was sooooo disgusting I couldn't do it. I didn't say anything to the Dr. and it didn't stop the surgery because the liquid diet before and then the enema helped clean me out :-)

For sure do it if that is what your surgeon ordered. Not everyone has to take it (I did not) but they are expecting you to have taken it and plan your surgery accordingly. I wouldn't take any chances.

Thanks for advice it's just a bottle of only 4 liters. That big and I've been on liquid for awhile now

I was worried about that per-surgery but talked to my doc and didn't have to go through it. Good luck with drinking all that! One good thing- a friend lost 14lbs when she did it right before surgery. Keep your head up :-)
