  1. My AST/ALT were all normal. In the mid range of normal. 25 for ALT Yes the center is a center of excellence... I just feel jipped and hurt. I didn't even get post op instructions for my incisions like can I shower tomorrow? I didn't even get a pain pill subscription. Hthe doc made an extra incision to try and lift my liver better so it just adds to more pain. Everytime I stand up it feels like my insides are pulling I took some OTC stuff but it's not doing the job
  2. I was on 10 days of 2 Protein shakes, water/crystal light and a lean cuisine type meal for dinner. Most of the time I just ate 2-3 oz of chicken breast baked with lettuce and a sprinkle of Italian dressing...it wasn't heavy I'm not a big salad dressing fan. Or I'd eat a few ounces of 99% fat free turkey taco meat-low sodium on top of lettuce. It was probably a little less or equal to lean cuisine in calories but less sodium
  3. I followed the diet and it didn't work well enough I guess! So now I'm shuffling around like an old woman The doc knew my weight and I had been in there the past two weeks in a row so they knew where I was at
  4. I did a 10 day pre op diet but that didn't work I guess... So he's suggesting I lose 20 lbs...I lost 8 but had gained a few Before pre-op diet. I am 316 and don't understand how people larger than I am are having the surgery? I would assume their livers would be bigger than mine??
  5. So I wake up to find out I was cut open and the surgery wasn't even done since my liver is still too large...they want me to lose 20 lbs before they will attempt it again... I'm so dissapointed and feel like maybe that this surgery isn't in the cards for me... I get in a car wreck in the surgery parking lot...and now I go under the knife to be closed back up. They knew my weight before I went under I don't get it
  6. I am so nervous...I couldn't eat today except a few corn chex and then I almost threw up!!! The day has finally come and I'm scared I will get there and chicken out. I told myself if anything was wrong with my blood tests I'd follow thru with surgery. Well I'm anemic, Vitamin D deficient, my B-12 is on the lowest end of normal, my triglycerides are high and my cholesterol is a bit above normal!!! I thought I was healthy but lazy...I told my hubby it's not me being lazy I really am tired lol Well I will post as soon as I feel good enough! For all those getting sleeved today I am praying that you all have uneventful surgeries and perfect, painless recoveries!!! May God Watch over you all!
  7. Maybe it's whatever dominant hand the surgeon is?
  8. I hate mayo so I use fage 0% Greek yogurt and mustard for egg salad it tastes great and my hubby couldn't tell the difference
  9. How was everyone's post op pain? I had an endoscopy today and am sad that my throat feels so raw and mucousy... I work 3 days after surgery so I'm hoping recovery goes well! I work from home doing customer support so I sit at my desk and do a little typing and talking but still get to relax so that's a bonus...the doc says I should be fine
  10. Anyone have excess mucus stuck in throat after endoscopy? It's driving me nuts lol It hurts to cough : (
  11. I do get alot of Charlie horses.... I live in w ashingron state and they say most people here are deficient lol...now I need to convince my hubby even more to move to California---I love it there lol
  12. I I got my blood tests back....my Vitamin d is really low and I'm anemic...now I can have an excuse for how tired I've been for the past year or so...lol hopefully going forward I'll be do much better!!! I can't wait to feel 100% My B-12 isn't that high only 234...anyone know if that's pretty low? I also have slightly high triglycerides and cholesterol!!!! Hopefully surgery will fix that in a jiffy!!! Just had my endoscopy...my throat hurts!!! Loving te ice right now!!
  13. My dr uses a 40 bougie to reduce complications post op. he only "oversews" if the stomach tissue doesnt look that healthy or in diabetics. Oversewing causes more "holes" which can also cause more leaks. A 32 vs 40 bougie is only about a 5 lb weight loss difference...if that. My dr also says that most docs that use a 32 bougie will staple further away from the bougie where a surgeon using a 40 will staple closer. It's all based on your doc though
  14. I had my blood drawn the other day for pre-op and am freaking out!!! I normally don't even go to the doctor unless I'm really sick (bronchitis, swine flu...yep I had the dreaded flu a few years ago I thought I was dying).... So my drs office called me twice today and I missed their call...in my head I'm like what If I'm diabetic, anemic, what if I have cancer etc....having an anxiety disorder only makes this worse...anyone find out they weren't as healthy as they thought pre-op? Granted I'm obese but I don't have any horrible symptoms of anything
  15. I forgot to add one of the nurses in the ER had lap band surgery done by my doc and said its the best thing she has done and her daughter is being sleeved next month... Another nurse came in and had the audacity to tell me I should exercise more and the surgery shouldn't be an option (of course she weighs about 120 soaking wet) and the other nurse with the lapband was just standing there shaking her head. That's another reason it's giving me a panic attack
  16. Was on my way to NWWLS when my sister and I were blinded by the sun and she hit a cement pole in the parking lot. She and I dot remember much of it happening...my head hit the windshield (old car seatbelts didn't work well) and I was taken to ER. I have some scrapes Andy knee is all bruised up. Cat scan was clean and they gave me toradol for the pain that will be coming. I am freaking out that what if it was a sign I shouldn't have surgery lol Anyone else freak out like that I have generalized anxiety and unfortunately that's how my brain works
  17. Congrats! You can totally see all your hard work paying off!
  18. I love Stevie nicks/fleetwood Mac and I thought it sounded cute!! Thanks
  19. I'm having my endoscopy tomorrow...I'd rather be awake and have my throat numbed...I have to work after so I'm hoping I'm not groggy long
  20. Are chia seeds the same thing you put on a chia pet? I've never heard of them lol
  21. Go litely my ass hahaha!!!!
