Ok...this is not a subject I usually bring up to strangers but I guess you are all my sleeve sisters and brothers. After surgery, when did you have your first BM? And...how long should one wait before talking to the doctor? FYI I had my surgery on the 9th have been taking stool softeners bot still nothing.

I used Milk of Magnesia about 4 days post op, it worked, and I have been regular since then; I am now 7 days post op. Frankly, I think it helped with the gas, once I started going regularly, I haven't had as much gas. May have been a fluke, but I feel better.

My surgery was on 02/22/12 and I had my first post-surgery BM on 02/27/12 without taking anything.

I understand it's pretty normal for it to take a week or so. Remember, there is not a whole lot going on down there when you're healing on your liquid diet.

Happy going!!!

I am so glad someone other than me brought this up!

My surgery was on the 8th.

I have not had a regular BM, but what can only be considered liquid movements 3-4 times a day since Friday (the 9th)

I have even "cheated" and tried eating a few oyster crackers and a couple bites of tuna in order to try to firm things up a bit. o_O

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
