Gone For Good Club- August 2006

Happy August 1st everyone!!

This will be our home for the Gone For Good Club – August Challenge.

For any newbies out there, the gone for good Club is our way of “banding” together for support and encouragement as we take off those pounds…(I know, cheap pun)

…Once each pound is lost, we consider it Gone For Good!!!

Weigh ins are on Wednesday in this format: current weight (total loss, this weeks loss) like so: C-350 (-36, -2) This person’s current weight is 350, they have lost 36 lbs so far and they have lost 2 lbs this week.

Feel free to join at any time, by posting a brief introduction for yourself and let us know what you are challenging yourself to. Whether you are banded or not, we are very happy to have your company!

This is not a competition, but just for a little added incentive to each of us, FunnyDuddies has promised a gift to the biggest “loser”, and I will be awarding a prize to the participant with the most creative exercise idea during the challenge.

This month’s challenge will involve keeping a close eye on our BMI’s (Body Mass Index) Here is a link to a BMI calculator so that we can make sure we are all using the same one:

http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/bmi/adult_BMI/english_bmi_calculator/bmi_calculator.htm

So here’s the challenge: Let’s see how much we can lower our BMI’s over the next few weeks. I want to hear that we are all guzzling our Water, eating healthy, and moving, moving, moving. The more creative the exercise the better! Share your ideas…

And we are all going to try to fight those demons who lurk in closets and cupboards…the one’s that make us crave no-no foods and try to convince us to slip into our old habits and negative patterns. We are united, we are strong and these pounds will soon be GONE FOR GOOD!

Welcome to the club for August, and good luck!!:clap2:

Sunshine

PS

Just a reminder, when posting on this thread, please remember to take out the check mark on "show signatures". This can be such a long thread, that it gets hard for those on dial up to participate. Let's try to keep it as "clean" as possible.

Thanks!!!

OH TELLY I LOVE THE HAIRCUT. Looks great on you. Very sexy.

Hey why thank you Ms. Penni-ness :)

Dawg....I don't really know you....but are you SURE you really want to be normal? You just don't strike me as ....... well, nevermind.

Telly...your hair cut is awesome. You really have to be pretty to carry that off and you do.

Susan....I have to admire your candor in telling us about your bout with the wine bottle. Believe me, I can relate - but I'd never have the guts to share my fears and concerns with others. I think that's the first step in helping yourself get through this. I think you're just great. Who knows....your experience might help others come out of the wine closet. I can tell you this, since I was banded (a week ago today), I have had less wine than I usually had in one night, pre-band. So it's definitely something I have to watch, too.

I can not tell you how many times I had to re-read "Penni-ness" before my brain stopped seeing an entirely different and totally inappropriate word.

Someone needs a smack, and it might be me.

Hmm, normal is such a wonderfully broad term isn't it? I could definately be considered a "normal" member of LBT, depending on who sets the standards.

Besides, I've decided the Center for Disease Control are just a bunch of do-gooders.

Besides, I just want to see the "normal" BMI for a week or two, just so I can prove I can get there :)

I am already 2/3 of the man I used to be :)

Linda! *laughs* Too funny! Well, not about burning your eyes out. Ya dork! *laughs*

Diva, thank you for that. *hugs*

Dawg the funny thing is when I was in Nursing school our little group of 15 gave each other nicknames. This way when we were in the hospital we could call out the nickname and only we would know who was being called. Really cool idea and drove our instructor batty.

Can you guess what my nickname was? YUP PENIS!! Only pronounced Pen is. Too funny. I got lots of looks when I answered. Had people thinking I was a tranvestite for awhile. I played along too. OOPS now my secret is out. LOL!!!

*runs back in for a quick edit* ROFL.. big boned.. ROFL!!

*Peers over at P'Nut and P'Nis*

Come on now Telly you know you want in on this. You and your cute hair cut. LOL!!

I don't have a vulgar name. I want one! ooooo

I got it!

P'Nut, P'Nis and Baldness :) All 3 go hand in hand.

I'm loving this day. It's been extremely entertaining. You guys keep me laughing as I work on all this paperwork.

I love it. I am laughing so hard over here. "HAND IN HAND"

All I can say is, I'm glad I wasn't the one due a smack.
