Gone For Good Club- August 2006

Happy August 1st everyone!!

This will be our home for the Gone For Good Club – August Challenge.

For any newbies out there, the gone for good Club is our way of “banding” together for support and encouragement as we take off those pounds…(I know, cheap pun)

…Once each pound is lost, we consider it Gone For Good!!!

Weigh ins are on Wednesday in this format: current weight (total loss, this weeks loss) like so: C-350 (-36, -2) This person’s current weight is 350, they have lost 36 lbs so far and they have lost 2 lbs this week.

Feel free to join at any time, by posting a brief introduction for yourself and let us know what you are challenging yourself to. Whether you are banded or not, we are very happy to have your company!

This is not a competition, but just for a little added incentive to each of us, FunnyDuddies has promised a gift to the biggest “loser”, and I will be awarding a prize to the participant with the most creative exercise idea during the challenge.

This month’s challenge will involve keeping a close eye on our BMI’s (Body Mass Index) Here is a link to a BMI calculator so that we can make sure we are all using the same one:

http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/bmi/adult_BMI/english_bmi_calculator/bmi_calculator.htm

So here’s the challenge: Let’s see how much we can lower our BMI’s over the next few weeks. I want to hear that we are all guzzling our Water, eating healthy, and moving, moving, moving. The more creative the exercise the better! Share your ideas…

And we are all going to try to fight those demons who lurk in closets and cupboards…the one’s that make us crave no-no foods and try to convince us to slip into our old habits and negative patterns. We are united, we are strong and these pounds will soon be GONE FOR GOOD!

Welcome to the club for August, and good luck!!:clap2:

Sunshine

PS

Just a reminder, when posting on this thread, please remember to take out the check mark on "show signatures". This can be such a long thread, that it gets hard for those on dial up to participate. Let's try to keep it as "clean" as possible.

Thanks!!!

Yummy apples. Peaches have been great this summer, I usually have one with every lunch. I've also craved banana's lately.

curses, heaps of curses on all of you who mentioned peanut butter at 1am.

I actually peanut butter AND jelly on rice cakes -how strange is that? lol - they are way less calories than bread - and not banded - I can eat rice cakes with no problem....its great and filling!

You know what's really good with peaches? Cream cheese blended with marshmallow creme. It's kind of like cheese cake--I'm torturing myself here.

It's actually really good with apples and strawberries too.

I think i need to update my shopping list for tomorrow!

I beg your forgiveness!

*gigglesnort*

Oooo, pb&j on rice cakes... I never thought of that.

sorry 503-250 - about the food talking - I'm not the least bit hungry so I'm ok - didn't mean to make ya hungry! lol -- is your name code for something?

Noooo, dont say the C word *dies*

I was whining for cheesecake earlier.

*gnaws on her last grape, looking grumpy*

ah I see 503 - thanks for the answer!

no cheesecake - no cake - just lousy - though chewy and crunchy rice cakes! lol

Banded 12-6-06 started at 503 currently at 467...not happy. No restriction and very hungry all the time. Hopefully thursday will bring change, i'm at 80% filled now...and I could eat a horse covered in peanut butter. Great...now I mentioned peanut butter.

503 - Good luck with your fill. Good restriction makes all the difference! Actually it sounds like you have done very well w/o good restriction. Congrats!

I'm exhausted and going to be and so is my "oh so high on Vault 10 year old." I don't care if he lays in bed awake all night. He knew he wasn't supposed to drink it. Maybe a few sleepless/restless hours awake in bed in the middle of the night will be good a good lesson in the school of life.

My duty is done - Goodnight!

I hope things get better for you, 503. Just um, stay away from horses... if you can... I hear they're greasy meat anyway. Probably not good for the complexion.

I'm sure the restriction will help, the 467 is back up from 463...so 4 lbs gained and broke back through my first nice sized goal of 40 lbs...so now I have to do it again.
