  1. Hey all. As the owner of b2g, I want to state for the record that I do not want my site to be used in comparison to LBT. LBT is an excellent support site and that is where this discussion should be focused. Different people like different things. I do not condone any negative connotations ascribed to LBT and I formally request that all references to other sites be left out as it has no pertinence to this forum. If an individual is dissatisfied with the operation of any forum they should leave and stop attempting to cause trouble, for the sake of causing trouble. Individuals who arrive at b2g and then remain here with the sole purpose of causing trouble and trying to bring my forum into the mix, will find themselves unwelcome (probably at either location). The world is big enough for many forums and support structures.

I think it just comes down to personallity. For a lot of the people who leave and have been in a community for a long period they may have too many acquaintences to contact them individually. Text and tone is difficult to read in text, and what might be just a cheery informative message and a wave goodbye, can be seen as a snotty "I'm taking my ball and going home". I have no doubt that LBT gets back on a fully even keel and continues to provide the support it always has. Let me give you a little bit of irony. I don't like posts about the practice of posting goodbye notes, any more than I like the goodbye posts themselves. Confused? I am! :puke:
  3. Hello everyone. My sincere apologies but I'm going to request this thread be locked. I've asked Alex on several occasions to give a solution to the thread posting problems and I don't think it's fair to people to keep this running for now. If the posting situation can be resolved I'll be happy to re-open the stats. Best,

*Raises an unsteady glass* I have sumpin to say.... I just wish I knew what it was.... Oh well...

Frankly my damn, I don't give a dear.
  6. If that is true, then the media has no respect for humanity or kindness. Wait... what am I saying? I actually have to respect a man who spends his life doing what he loves. I don't care if he was a lovable buffoon. I don't care if he made millions. He dedicated himself to his passion. Hard to argue that. We could all die, at any moment. He will live on through many years as character. I doubt many of us here will have that longeivty when we go.

... made a very special person who caused me to grin. How's that?
  8. My word, that just sucks. We make fun of him because of his madcap antics and the poor guy dies. Well I'll be thinking about his family tonight. I'm going to add one thing. The man died doing what he loved. I think maybe we'd all be lucky to go doing something that filled our hearts with joy.
  9. Dobies are good, I wouldn't expect any more than 14. Good food, exercise and activities will give best chance of a long life. Good luck with the doggie We've talked about getting another dog but, after the last guy I just can't conceive of a replacement. Bettina - Me? Gone? HA! :girl_hug: Noone is that lucky.
  10. Smaller tend to live longer. Bigguns tend to be.... bigger. I'd look more at temperament and living space rather than being too concerned with life expectancy We had a Golden Retriever and for me - thats all I would really want again. He only lasted 9 years (hip displasia got him).

  12. Okay. So a few people want to know my story about my band experiences. Alrighty. Let me give you my full biography and experience. I joined LBT in January after my wife informed me about a great support forum. She entered the pre-op diet on Dec. 21st of 2005 and at the same time I began a life changing diet to counteract my own food demons. During the period between Dec. 21st and present day I have spent a substantial portion of my free time researching and becoming informed about the Lap-Band and some might state that I am pretty well informed. I experienced my wife's post surgery experiences and her day to day living experiences. I have always pre-faced my advice with "speaking as an unbanded individual" to ensure that everyone knows who I am, and what I am. I could easily just give up on the vast majority of this community but I feel I would be giving in to the minority. I have some knowledge about the band, and I have some knowledge of what life is like with the band. Can I feel the band? Nope. Can I feel what a PB is like? Nope. Do I know what good restriction feels like? Nope. Have I claimed to? Nope. Lets be clear about a few items. 1. Some people hate my wife for whatever reasons. Some people hate me for whatever reasons. I'm here to support people with the lap-band. If you think I am unqualified to do that, enjoy your opinion. 2 I think everyone in this thread would be best served by moving on. I acknowledge your write to continue the fight and keep this rolling, but to what avail? Are you going to keep the fight going until you (any of you) get banned too? 3. I honestly am surprised at all the posts where you keep posting "shut up". Erm... stop posting "shut up" and it will help it shut up. Yes - I could be seen as doing the same thing but I am addressing specific accusations and insinuations that I have no right to be here. 4. I have stated to the moderators directly "If you feel my presence on this board is negative, I will happily move on". At this time they have not requested that I do so. If you have a problem with me being here, or if you have a problem with me not having a band, or if you just have a problem that my father inseminated my mother - PM me and we'll sort it out privately. This ball NEEDS to stop rolling before everyone in this thread ends up with "Account Suspended" under their name.
  13. No, and I hope she won't be. Lap-band.... anyone care about the lap-band... bah... lap-band boring... lets keep this ball of doom and gloom rolling. Oh and one teeny tiny side note. For the allegation that Dawg is being run by P'Nut. This is an insult and needs to not happen again. Any further such allegations will be reported. The statement was made that PhotoNut will not attempt to make any further activity on this board and to suggest that she is - is calling both her, and me, a liar. I guess it also suggests that I am not welcome on the board anymore. This is time to put this stuff to bed.
  14. All, I bring a message from PhotoNut. She apologises for not meeting her commitment to her secret friend, but in light of the recent events she just doesnt have the heart to participate. Apologies again.
  15. Regardless of who you liked, or who you hated, there is no purpose in continuing this thread. If you are happy that PhotoNut was banned - rejoice. If you are happy that Lisa (et al) was banned - rejoice. if you are happy that Dody was banned - rejoice. if you are happy that 3loves was banned - rejoice. if you are sad that any of these folks are banned - write to the moderators. Just stop bringing this up and let the past slowly lapse into the past.
  16. w00t All aboard! (I moved my post as I was a little premature)
  17. I very much think Heather is our "gurl". Ya get my vote to keep the ball rolling.

I'm requesting that we just let this go folks. I'm tired of it. All parties involved lost. With luck a few people will see that having this kind of event only hurts people. Maybe in future everyone will think twice before they get things escalated to this stage.
  19. Oh and guys a very special request from P'Nut. Please do not start, participate, or organize a "bring back P'Nut" campaign. She'd rather her name just fade away than have it dragged through more hysterics. What is most important to her (and always has been) is that LBT is a supportive environment for everyone.

  21. It appears for whatever reasons they have decided to ban P'Nut for the reason: "You broke the rules". The notice states that the ban will never will be lifted and P'Nut will not be creating other user accounts to attempt to circumnavigate the ban. She sends you all her love and best wishes for continued success in your weightloss journeys. If anyone would like to stay in contact with P'Nut please contact me and I will provide you with her email address.

  23. Oo how about Thomas the Tank Engine when it was still "The Fat Controller" and was narrated by Ringo Starr!
