so during the night, i woke up with slimes feeling super nauseous. as i tried to relax & get control of the nausea (sitting up in bed), i start throwing up! i had to run to the bathroom where i threw up hunter green bile non stop for like 5 minutes! so much for thinking those days were over :(

im feeling sick to my stomach. i highly doubt im going to be able to eat anything today. my throat is burning still from the acid of me throwing up & i feel like i may need to throw up again. :(

it seems never ending. my gi dr told me that he doesnt think my food aversion is stent related. he said hes not sure why i am having a food aversion but that hopefully "itll pass". THATS THEIR ANSWERR FOR EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i swear i think ima punch the next dr in their face if they tell me itll pass one more damn time! :o

WELL...... 5minutes after writing this post, i got out of bed to go brush my teeth & wash up & began throwing up again.

Jasleeve,

I'm so sorry to hear that you are feeling like crap again. I hate to throw up, so I don't know how you tolerate it. The best thing I can say about being on Nexium, is that when I throw up, there is no acid taste. The Nexium seems to be really effective in eliminating my stomach acid.

I wish I had a solution for you. But all I can think of to say/do is to pray for you. So I am praying right now for you to be healed. I have faith in Jesus, so I have to believe that HE will answer our prayers. God bless and keep you. And again, I am so sorry.

Love and Hugs and Prayers coming your way rightnow.

Jasleeve,

Has anybody suggested or discussed a Zofran pump with you? It is similar to an insulin pump, in that it pumps a small continuous amount of Zofran (anti-nausea medication) into your system. I have seen several pregnant women with severe nausea/vomiting who had to have a Zofran pump implanted. It seemed to help them. That might be something that you could benefit from.

Anyway, just a suggestion. Prayers continue!!!!

I've been nauseated since I had surgery and was told the same thing,,if my nexium and zantac doesn't help for me to call the gi. Today I'm vomiting too,,smh too.lol I'm still thinking about ya and hoping all will pass and you'll feel much better real soon. I hope it will all be a bad memory and things will start looking up. Keep trying to drink,,I know it's hard to throw it up but your body will consume some of the fluids and you obviously need them really bad with all that you are going through.

Couple things to consider, I could not tolerate ANY Vitamins for two months. They all turned my stomach and left me ill. I stopped trying to take them and that helped a lot. Now i can tolerate anything. Try fish, not fried it is easier on me than shakes. You mentioned in one post that u get 50-100 oz o Fluid. That is a huge swing!! 50 isnt enough and 100 is just inside good so the days ur at or near 50 your deficit is to great for the good days to cover. Try to get in 80 minimum everyday. The thing is from what you have discribe your surgeon cant do anything to help but an iv. You havent discribed anything that sounds like an improper proceedure. It is in your hands now to work on figuring your body out. That was really hard for me. I had never listened to my body before and was clueless in how to do that.

I would suggest that for the next week you focus on 80 oz of liquid and pick only one of two Proteins to experiment with. Keeping in mind that under eating you stomach is what you want to do. Try eating one oz of whatever Protein and then leave it alone for 10 mins and then try one more oz another 10 min and a final oz. keeps you under ur pouch size and you will have time to see how its sitting.

The burping can be cause by eating to fast as that induces air into your stomach. Also do not use a staw to drink.

It is what it is, slow methodical progras is what you will need to make from this point. Your gonna get there. Chin up, push forward.

We are all pulling for you.

I'm worried about you! Scared you are going to be dehydrated :( I hate hearing you are throwing up and it seems to be EVERYTHING! If you go to the hospital is there any chance they will give you fluids or admit you? It makes me so mad for you that they just keep sending you to one another!!!! GRRRR!

The depression can really set you back and feeling nausea and vomitting can really make you depressed. Have you tried chicken broth? I would strain campbell's chicken noodle Soup and add some injury chicken broth flavor Protein and the warmth helped soothe my tummy down. I also ate a lot of sugar free pudding with Protein Powder and suagr free Jello. Personally I could not tolerate baby food. I got slimey's a lot my first month or two out they are gross.

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL
