Pre-op Diet.. How Much Did You Lose?

So, the bariatric center I am going through requires a 2 week liquid diet prior to surgery. I have to purchase the kit through the hospital which contains all the vitamins, protein etc. My surgery is Feb 13th (I believe... the lady hasn't called me back to triple confirm this on my part haha) Either way I am starting today on eating healthier and working out. I figure why not get a kick start on some weight loss pre-op. But I am wondering for those of you that had a 2 week diet how much did you lose?

From my previous diet attempts in the past on a liquid diet, I managed to last two weeks and lost 15 lbs. I start my liquids on Monday and I am hoping for that type of success during this two weeks. M

This is a tough qestion for people to answer because pre-op diets (if they even had one) vary all over the board on structure and length. I lost 17 pounds on my pre-op diet, but it lasted 3 months.

I had a 2 week preop diet and lost 15 pounds. My surgeon said that he could tell that I followed my diet and my surgery was only 40 minutes.

It's tough...but worth it!

Two week pre op diet. Lost 13 pounds.

Seems about right. I have two days left and I lost 12-13.

I'm on day 3 of my pre-op liquid shakes and a salad diet and lost 4 pounds so far.

Koryswlj - thanks for asking this question...I too have a Feb 13 surgery date and was wondering the same thing. Good luck to you!

My date is the 13th of February too! I will be doing the 2 weeks liquids as well. I started going to the gym again with my husband after Christmas, because the better shape we're in, the quicker/better the healing. I also planned to start eating better in preparation, but that part has been a bit harder. :s

I am on day 4 of two protein shakes and a lean and green dinner and I am down 6.4lbs. Only 11 days to go and I will officially be a sleevie!!! Yippee!!!!! Btw, found a new protein drink today and it's awesome. Its called Premier Protein and you buy it premade from wholesale stores like Sams or Costco!! They have no aftertaste like some I have tried. Message me if your surgery date is around the 20th so I have some buddies to lose with!! Good luck to everyone!!!

I'm at day 7 of 14 all liquid and I'm down 20 lbs but miserable... Lol

Everyone is doing great!! Cant wait to drop some pre-surg weight even if it comes with a liquid diet!! My doc gave me my date officially... changed it to 14th... Valentines day sleeve lol

I am also being sleeved on Feb 13th. Wow, it will be great to have so many of us (Koriswlj, the 14th is close enough, lol) I have to start my liquid diet on Jan 30th, this will sure be interesting. :coolgleamA:

I got my info packet from the surgeon's office yesterday and I only have to do a three day total liquid diet. I am soooo glad, I don't know if I would have been strong enough for two weeks. I'm so excited there are so many of us all heading in around the same time. Yeah for us! I can't wait to start reading all the amazing things you are all doing.

I know the liquid stage is going to be so difficult. I am going to carry around one of my worst "before" pictures and any time I start getting discouraged, I am going to pull out that picture and hope it gives me motivation to keep going towards my goal.
