They say men are like dogs, and women are like cats. We both do the same things, we just have the good sense to cover our s**t up.

HYSTERICAL! Good post. Thanks for the funny Chrlangelpi :clap2:

Simmer down now, simmer down. If I find a forum ridiculous, I stay away and use my time wisely on topics of interest. I say we all the right to discuss whatever we want with any opinions and not be judged for the topic being "ridiculous".

Now, this is showing respect for opinions and not pointing fingers. This is a good thing.

I love having my views and opinions challenged. Keeps me level.

We all have different definitions of cheating. It's not summed up by one definition. I find this thread interesting b/c there are lives that are so different. I live in a total different world than some of the people that have posted. There are some that are so close to my personal views and principles. If I didn't like the difference, I would have joined a christian site and not LBT.

It did start out interesting...I even put my two cents in earlier.....but when it turned into a mud slinging session I needed to say my piece.

Notice I didn't name names...i was mearly making an observation.

Take care!

All very interesting. I find it weird that people get in such a tissy over conversation, but I also find it funny about that people that get in a tissy over people getting in a tissy. If Oprah can talk about it calmy on television we can surely express different opinions on a website calmly.

My question to add to the scenario is do you think there are less overweight people cheating due to being overweight and having less advances from potential cheaters? Could this be why our poll stats are so different from the others stated in this posting from a bigger piece of the population?

Hmmmm... very interesting! Could it also be for all of us, that our likelyhood might increase as we get more attractive to the opposite sex, and have more personal confidence in ourselves (which also makes us outwardly more attractive).

I personally don't think it is more or less. I think there probably equal amounts of cheaters in every race, sex, religion, sexual orientation, fat, skinny, etc. If you are that kind of person you are just that kind of person.

I agree, but I was talking about opportunity. When one considers that an unhealthy, unconfidant person, who potentially could be a cheater, but isn't, changes into a more attractive confident person, could that alter the opportunity?

Some might say that "less attractive" people are more likely to cheat because they are looking for validation or are more desperate. There are some people like that. Looking for love in all the wrong places. Anyone can have sex any time they want. Especially women. Just depends on how much they wanna lower their standards.

As far as opportunity. I think that you are likely to get more offers that's for sure.

It's definately thoughts that have come into my head, especially when you start getting more attention from other people either because you are lookin good or you feel better about yourself and that is showing through. I would never act, but the thoughts were there.

I think that is natural when you are not used to it. For alot of people, that is a life they are not used to. Not even when they were younger. I think it is natural for thoughts to go through your head. As far as what you do about it. Well that is another story. Thoughts are just thoughts though. Not a person in the world can help how the feel. If that were the case, everyone would choose to feel happy 24/7. You can only help your actions after the feelings.

I have some issues around this, because my dad cheated on my mom, and my 1/2 brother and 1/2 sister are living proof of it.

So, how do I know for sure? I don't really. What I base my statement that he hasn't cheated on me on is that he's never given me any reason at all to doubt him. He's never been missing time, that is I've never had times where I didn't know where he was or what he was doing, and I've never caught him lying about such things. We talk about everything under the sun. I feel like I know him and trust him totally. Someday, I may be proven wrong, but until then I'm continueing with that.

Ok... people get very touchy when the subject comes up that there is even the slightest tincy wincy possibility that their spouse has cheated or is cheating on them. This is very natural, especially for someone who has never had the joyous experience. Very normal...it's like saying that Mrs. Bush is a crack whore in disguise....you would never ever believe such a thing and you could never ever believe that your spouse could cheat. But, guess what...they could, and you would never know it. How do I know this? Because I was once like you. My husband and I had a wonderful relationship, a beautiful daughter, great friends, were involved in our church, a great sex life (great sex at least 5 times a week), um can I go on? Well, he was a cheater and a liar. He had a job, like I am sure yours does. I knew what hours he went to work and when he came home. I did not know what he did during those hours or who he did it with. He occassionally worked a weekend day. He was never "missing time". Did I run to check up on him? NO. Why? Because it literally never entered my mind that he would be doing anything (or anyone) other than what he was supposed to be doing! A word to the wise: Meet your husband for lunch unexpectedly 3 or 4 times per month. Show up to meet him afterwork to go to dinner occassionally. Drop by on the occassional Saturday at the office just to say hi and see if he wants to go to a matinee, whatever, but these kinds of overtures won't hurt a relationship they will only strengthen it! They will add some romance to it! Unless of course you inadvertantly discover that your husband is like many many other men, and needs a little extra encouragement to keep his barn door securly shut when he's not on the farm!

No offense to those men out there who actually are and always have been and always will be faithful to their wives, but a word of caution to wives who say the word never too often.

By the way I am happily re-married to a wonderful man, a little wiser but still hurtable because I love him so much. I didn't think I could again but you can't really help falling in love. You can only help being stupid about it.:(

I'm sorry you had to go through that, and happy you found someone else!

I am aware the men cheat, like I said my dad did, an uncle did, a friend's hubby did and I had an ex-boyfriend cheat on me. Not saying I can't be fooled, but I guess I decided that unless/until DH gave me any cause to doubt, I would trust him. I don't want to live worried about it.

Dropping by work actually sounds like fun, but his office is too far from mine, and we work about the same hours, he's usually home right before me. I have called him at work now and then when I needed his input on somthing, and he's always there.

You know you never know.my husband works at a factory.and he talks about men cheating alot.I know of a friend that is cheating with a married man and he works at a factory 2nd shift and he takes vacation days to spend the night with her a couple times a month.i have heard and seen a lot of shocking things out of both sexes its not just men anymore.and dont forget someone is paying all these prositutes on the street.they seem to be making a great living.

Hi,

I have not posted here in eons, but I took a half hour to read 14 pages of this and feel entitled to an opinion. I am so surprised at the statistics because they can't be accurate. First off, people who have cheated probably dont really want to air their dirty laundry anyway here on this site. That being said, the ones that said they never cheated or that their spouses never cheated can only be sure about themselves.

I feel pretty confident that my husband has never cheated on me, but will I say this with absolute certainty???? No, I would be stupid to beleive that this isnt possible. Despite my trust in him and the fact that he is a loyal partner and great Dad and almost NEVER goes out alone where he could ever have the chance to be with another and despite the fact that he can be reached at work whenever I call, if someone wants to cheat, they will find a time and place to do it. Just because someone is married for a long time doesnt mean that they have a stable relationship. My husbands parents were married for 42 years and I know for a fact that my FIL cheated at least one time.

I agree with Chameleon. People can be naive and all people want to believe the best of others especially to believe the best in their partners. But there are so many circumstances that change the dynamic of a relationship. A good friend of mine (who is male) told me that I should stay with my husband despite all the problems we are having because he loves me so much and is LOYAL. We have children and because he doesnt cheat, he is a good father and he loves me I should stay in a relationship where there is no longer physical chemistry just because there probably isnt anything better out there for me. I dont want to be a victim of would have, could have, should have and I dont want to live a life of dual exceptionality like many others do.

I am not saying that people are lying here, I just think the ones that are so vehement about their relationships being faithful in a world where monogamy is a curious thing are living in a plastic bubble.
