Recommended Posts

I am just wondering if anyone might know when we can swallow pills again.

I am 5 weeks post op and I have my meds as liquids right now - the taste is terrible.

Any help would be appreicated.

I was told upon discharge no pills larger then a pencil eraser.. I was also told to take a med just about that size and have been taking it since I got discharged 6 days ago with no problems.

I ended up taking my pills the second day I was home. There was no way I could crush them and actually get them down. I didn't have any trouble so I didn't worry about it.

I am 4 days post op and have been taking pills since day 2, with no problems. the only problem i encounter is when i crush a pill, then i taste it all and get nausea. You should be fine but be sure to call your surgeons office and ask them.

I was prescribed Cipro today, BIG pill. I break it in half, just to be sure it will go down. I'm now working on finishing a bottle of Water before I go to bed just to make sure it's well dissolved down there.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
