When Can You Swallow Pills Again.

I am just wondering if anyone might know when we can swallow pills again.

I am 5 weeks post op and I have my meds as liquids right now - the taste is terrible.

Any help would be appreicated.

I was told upon discharge no pills larger then a pencil eraser.. I was also told to take a med just about that size and have been taking it since I got discharged 6 days ago with no problems.

I can't remember, but I think I started taking my regular multi-vitamin instead of a chewable at 10 months out...

My doctor sent me home with liquid pain meds but my nasuea meds was pill form so I assume as long as they are real small it would be ok

I ended up taking my pills the second day I was home. There was no way I could crush them and actually get them down. I didn't have any trouble so I didn't worry about it.

I am 4 days post op and have been taking pills since day 2, with no problems. the only problem i encounter is when i crush a pill, then i taste it all and get nausea. You should be fine but be sure to call your surgeons office and ask them.

I was prescribed Cipro today, BIG pill. I break it in half, just to be sure it will go down. I'm now working on finishing a bottle of water before I go to bed just to make sure it's well dissolved down there.

I was also given small pills on day two. Do remember though that not all pills can be crushed, dissolved or split. Check with your pharmacist or read the documentation that comes with it.

Can any of you recommend a small vitamin that you take?

I'm taking Centrum Ultra Women's vitamins. They are large so I break it in half. I also tried crushing it but I didn't like the taste. I'll ask my doctor when I have my one month post op visit if I can take the whole vitamin.
