  1. Hi all, I'm just wondering if anyone has had any issues with their uvula after surgery. I'm 9 months out and it has never really ever healed I'm going to have it checked out this coming Friday. Thanks!
  2. Hi there!!! 2012 is my year to finally exercise! I'm doing this ultimately for my health! But I'm excited to see if it will help my main problem areas (thighs-inner and outer and stomach). I have lots of loose skin, and saggy back thighs and cellulite on my thighs. OK so I was wondering if there is anyone out there in their 40's who was able to accomplish such a feat???? Would you happen to have before and after pictures you don't mind sharing??? Just using exercise, nothing else. I am going to finally take some before pics (for myself) showing the skin front, back (eeewww) and side and compare them next January 2013. I'm super excited! Thanks y'all!!!
  3. HI Y'all, I wanted to do some research with REAL people instead of reading about it in some report. I'm wondering how much weight (IF ANY) you have gained since being sleeved. I go up between 1-3 lbs. so my answer would be 1-5 lbs. I'm curious to see how this goes. Thanks!
  4. For those longing to break the crazy daily weigh in addiction, I invite you to join me in weighing in once a week...I have chosen Saturday mornings and the 27th of every month to weigh in. We can check in every Saturday and be accountable, and see how it goes. Here's to super Saturday's y'all P.s. I will be weighing later, I'm up early because of my hubby's snoring I'm actually going to try and go back to bed and get some more zzzzzz's...
  5. For me it was just eating whatever I wanted to eat without weighing myself and not sticking to the program like I needed to. I still can't eat a lot but it was what I was eating. I started this post to find out if we could gain weight back and unfortunately found out that you can if you fool around with the eating. Stay on track. Stay focused. Weigh yourself to be accountable. And don't eat those slider foods. It will catch up to you. I got 6 lbs under my goal weight. And now I'm 19 lbs over my goal weight. Best wishes to you.
  6. I hate to be the bearer of bad news. It's no joke mypeeps. YOU CAN GAIN WEIGHT and sad to say all of it back if you don't take this seriously!!!! Don't play are onus with slider foods and eating junk. It catches up. I'm grateful to be where I'm at 5 years out (169) BUT I've gained a lot (I got down to 144 and my normal bmi goal was 150). Sleevie still works great but unfortunately I know how to get around it. Toatally not worth it. I made myself get on the scale yesterday and so glad I did to keep myself on track. The only one I would be hurting is myself. I've gone through too much to sabotage myself now. We got this peeps.

    Super Saturday Weigh In

Weight yesterday Saturday morning 169.0 whoot
  9. Ok I just realized I'm 18.2 lbs over weight now versus being back at obese. Barely but still I will take it and run yay! My personal goal is just to lose 4-10 more lbs and try to maintain that . That would be awesome. Best wishes to all.
  10. I did the pouch test for the first time and oh my Lord IT WORKS!!! It helped me kick the snacking to the curb even during tom. And proves sleevie still works just like it did 5 years ago when I first got him . It's a mini miracle for us for sure!!! I'm back down to 169. And hope to be back to my personal goal by the end of the year. hugs!!!!

  13. My highest weight was 234 and I got down to 144...I lost 34 lbs before surgery and was 204 day of surgery. I wanted be #1000....WHOO HOO! LOL!!!
  14. Wow it's been so long since I've been back. Yesterday I celebrated my 5 YEAR Sleeve anniversary!!!! I started this post and I'm back to say I'm 27 lbs. over my normal BMI goal. And a total 33 lbs. over my lowest weight. I will tell you it's easy to do. My sleevie has been a HUGE blessing. I would totally have gained all my weight back by now. Like my surgeon told me, we can help you with this tool, however we can't fix your mindset. That would require some type of brain surgery which they haven't discovered for weight loss as of yet (well not that I'm aware of). I will tell you it's an AMAZING TOOL, but NOT A FIX!!! or MIRACLE. My problem is I'm a huge snacker at work. I tell myself I don't finish my meals or eat that much at all...and it's true. However when I sit and think about every item I put in mouth during the day IT ALL ADDS UP. For some reason, for me at least, my sleevie wonder loves and tolerates Snacks VERY WELL lol. I'm a huge lover of the weight watcher program especially TRACKING. I know what I need to do, and I will DO IT! I also stopped weighing myself thinking I would feel it in my clothes...I did and ignored it. I listened to others who said stop weighing. I don't blame them at all. I did this allllll by myself. I will admit I was a little crazy weighing all day lol. You have to find what works for you and stick to it. So here's what I know I must do: -Weigh daily or once a week (I will start tomorrow SUPER SATURDAY WEIGH in here I come ) -and TRACK MY food FOO -stop blaming my age/hormones for the weight gain LOL almost 48, no excuses try and continue to get my 10,000 steps in a day (love my fitbit charger)- Hope these tips help. I know they are going to help me get back to where I need to be . I'm pretty content, but would like to lose 17 lbs and maintain there. I can do it. I've done it before. 90 lbs. to be exact. I'm so thankful to my sleeve sisters who did random acts of kindness yesterday to Celebrate my anniversary. I also received a beautiful plant at home. I'm so thankful to have such a wonderful sleeve family through this journey. We can't do this alone. Happiness and Love to All! I wish you all Best wishes during your journey

    Fab 40's shout out

I guess I'll be the first, I'm 42:thumbup: whoo hoo! And I can't wait for the day I FINALLY have a "Normal" BMI and finish my 40's better than ever:001_smile:
  16. OK y'all so I didn't take my yearly anniversary picture this year since I have gained so much weight. But today I was looking for a black dress and took these from the dressing room to send to my hubby to see if he liked it. Tomorrow I will be 4 years and 1 month post op. I have about 12-15 lbs to get back to my goal weight, but again I'm so thankful I'm not where I was prior to sleevie. This dress is a size 8 and I used to be a tight 18 lol. I have no complaints. I know what I need to do :-) and I hope I can report back next year back at goal!!!
  17. You are 100% Laura!!! There's just no easy way around it. It's an awesome tool and you have seemed to master it. Congrats!!!! Listen to Laura people!!!! If you don't want to gain, STAY ON THE PLAN!!! I hope to report back one year from now back on track and back at my normal BMI range. Best wishes to all :-)
  18. Hi Everyone :-) Today is my 4 year anniversary. I was the one that originally asked the question about weight gain after surgery. Well I'm here to tell you that you can definitely GAIN WEIGHT BACK and not just a few pounds. Although I'm very content and blessed to be wearing a size 8 today I was actually wearing some size 4's years ago. And was a perfect size 6 for over 3 years. My goal weight was to reach 150 lbs. (a normal BMI weight for me). I got as low as 144 lbs. Today 4 years out I weigh 165 lbs. I have reached as high as 170 lbs. during my period. The sleeve is a PHENOMENAL tool and 4 years out I STILL have amazing restriction. The weight gain is from not eating properly, PERIOD. For the MOST part I'm still making pretty good choices, but obviously there are choices that haven't been all that great to gain all this weight back. I know age has something to do with it as well. I am 46 going on 47 and lots of changes going on lol. BUT NO EXCUSES for sure. Again I'm content and watching my weight pretty closely now to make sure I don't gain any more weight and would love to be back to 150-155 lbs. I know it's possible for sure. I'm so thankful for my sleevie.
  19. In a few hours I will be 3 years post op! WHOO HOO!!!!!!! I am still lovin my sleevie! It has been an amazing journey. It was really tough at first but here I am 3 years out and SOOOO HAPPY. Here are a few pics from a few days ago in a Macy's changing room where I was looking for a dress to wear for a wedding in December (size 6 dress and NO SPANX, however I will be wearing them at the wedding LOL) to pics from a few weeks ago (wearing all white jrs. dress, say what??? ...and a few before pics for those who don't know me. I also included a picture from the day I actually tried on my wedding dress in July 2011 and IT FIT!!!! That was a personal goal I really wanted to reach and I DID IT!!!!! WHOOT! My highest weight recorded was 234 and a tiiiiight 18W (I refused to buy any bigger)...my lowest weight post op was 144 and actually was wearing a few 4's. Today I'm 155 and STILL WEARING clothes from May 2011 when I reached my normal BMI goal weight of 150 (6-8's). Not bad for this nearly 46 year old! I'M SOOOO GRATEFUL TO GOD for my sleeve! And I'm SOOO THANKFUL for all of you who have supported me during this journey. A special shout out to my southern CA VST family! Thank you for always being there for me, your support has truly helped me through it all!!! HUGS!
