No, I ate it when I was on full liquids. I melted cottage cheese in with it so that it had more Protein.

I hear of a lot of people eating Tomato Soup on the post op diet so it must be fine. My local surgeon sells bariatric food and he has packets of Tomato Soup with some sort of Protein powder in it.

I avoided it for the first few weeks while my stomach was healing. The most I could it was only 1/4 c at that time. I loved the progress healthy parmesan Tomato. I added another tbsp of parmensan to add additional Protein also. My husband who hates Tomato Soup really liked it and also ate it after he had surgery.

I'm not allowed tomatoes until 2 months but I know a lot of people have had it sooner.

I am 10 days post-op, and have been eating Tomato Soup at least once a day for a week. I use the organic Creamy Tomato from Trader Joes, it is soooo good. A few times I have mixed it with strained veggie Soup to change the flavor up a bit, also very good. I eat no more than 1/3 cup at a time. I do not add any Protein power to mine, I am getting over 60 grams of protein a day with my shakes. Hope this helps!

My doc says it varies by individual. He says you can have it in the full liquid stage but if you find you are having issues with acid, you should avoid it until later. I don't like Tomato Soup, but I found some fantastic chilled gazpacho at Fresh Market. It is a little spicier than I expected but man it was SO good and a great change of pace.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
