I just reached goal, but I am not planning on any plastic surgery. I am still having to work hard on my upper arms and I do have some excess skin on my upper thighs but I think I will give it a little while and see how it does. Everywhere else my skin seemed to return to normal.

15lbs more and I will be scheduling my Plastic Surgeon for a TT. I am not sure if I want to head to Mexico..since I observed Sammie's tubing/drains, bandages, etc., I think I may go with someone in Orlando. Still researching. I have a list of docs but so far, no one grabs me. I noticed that some docs go with a c-section style type TT and some go with a weird "W" shaped incision.

Still researching. Still have some time.

Newsho,

Can you give me some info about where to start the process of having ins pay for procedures.I haven't started to see any Dr's for any "problems" with skin or back pain but would be willing to start to get ins to pay.Just have no idea where to go first.I have about 40 more pounds to get to goal but figure this fighting ins will take some time, right?

If you would like you can email me privately................Thanks!

Hi,

has anyone gone through with ps and got the scars to prove it? How bad is the scarring? does it heal really well or will you still have to cover up? I've got a long way to go but am thinking about it for the future.

I had started out thinking that PP would not be a priority, but now that I am loosing a lot, I can see where a TT is going to be necessary. I have been obese most of my life and my apron is considerable. Got a ways to go, but will definately be checking into it in the next year or so

Go online and look at plastic surgery photos before doing anything. This is the site that I looked at:

It looks like the only bad tummy tucks were on people who didn't seem to need them in the first place. But I saw some really bad breast reduction/ lift photos, some that didn't heal well at all. I always thought that I would get one, but the photos turned me off....

I have had a TT. It was well worth it. No skin slapping up against my thighs, no smelly belly, no rashes. Ahh, it was the best thing I have ever done for my health besides being banded.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
