Looking ahead…..This question is for those who have been sleeved. How soon after surgery did you return to work and was there much discomfort?

Went to work 7 days after. I sit down to work most of the day. I had to be really careful what I ate at work the first couple of days at work (due to the gas and rumbling of my tummy and the first week some things if they had any oil or grease gave me diarrea which at work is a nightmare) but incision wise work was fine. I did find I got tired and called it quits before the 12 hours was up. Hope that helps.

I returned after 6 days. A little painful and discomfort especially to drive but made it happen. Everyone is different.

I told my job 2 weeks and I returned sooner and looked like a hero........Just kidding.

BEST OF LUCK! I was sleeved June 1st and everyday gets better than the next !

Dawn :)

I had the surgery on Wednesday and went back to work the following Thursday. No pain, just difficulty in figuring out how to eat while working...

I had surgery on Tuesday and went back to work the following Monday. As a school teacher there really isn't much time off (surgery was done over the Christmas break). I was fine with the pain, but was extraordinarily TIRED the first 2 weeks back at work. If I had been able to take off the 2nd week, I would have for sure!

I took off one week, two would have been nice but I couldn't afford it. I have a daycare and was losing money.

I took two weeks off and when I went back on the 3rd week I was really tired and weak, I took the Wednesday off during the third week but have been fine since.

My Dr says 4 weeks - I work from home and have a very flexible schedule and he said he might consider 2. Most everyone I have heard say they went back after 2 says they were really tired the first week back so I am thinking 3...we'll see I guess!

I went back to work after two weeks. I was fine until I started mushy foods. I just felt sick all the time and figured I should have taken another week off to adjust to the new diet. I was also weak and tired, but I work in retail so I was on my feet for 8 hours a day. If you have a sit down job I figure it will be easier, but if you are up and running around take the third week. I wish I had.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
