@@blackgirlfat Congratulations! I am having surgery in November and our starting weight is about the same so I will be stalking your progress lol. I have a huge concern about losing hair also but I heard taking your Vitamins helps to avoid Hair loss.

@@blackgirlfat How are you feeling? Are you meeting your Fluid and Protein goals?

hey there! I am feeling great. Yesterday I met my Protein goal for the first time after finally finding protein that doesn't taste so bad. I haven't met my Fluid goal yet, but I am working on it. I mainly haven't met the fluid goal because I forget to drink throughout the entire day.

How is your journey going?

I hope I don't lose any hair because I installed expensive sisterlocks in February. But I am prepared with a wig already. Good luck with your surgery!

@@blackgirlfat I'm not sure how your sisterlocks are going to hold up. My friend had them and since they are so small, they can break off at the root easily with healthy hair, when you have hair that is shedding, meh. Good luck.

I wouldn't suggest anyone have braids, sewins etc right after surgery. If anything wigs are best so your hair can rest.

Sigh. I will remain hopeful that I am the exception, but I will take a thin body over hair and money any day! By the way, I read your status update in the other thread, and you're amazing! I hope I am as successful.

@@blackgirlfat

Be really careful with them, they will break off at the edges and the temples, keep them oiled with like coocnut oil or something.

Sisterlocks are so pretty. I'm far too lazy for them though. Wash and go is the life for me.

OMG! I just found out I'm approved. However, after reading all these experiences, my own fears, etc....I'm kinda nervous and re-thinking things. This is my first post and I'm relatively new to the forum. I thought I'd share it here first. Thank you for listening <3

It is quite normal to be nervous: this is a life-altering change. What you eat and how much you eat will be drastically different than what you have been used to your entire life- but you know what? You can DO this for a healthier and happier YOU! I'm 18 months post-op and have no regrets- except for not doing it sooner! Good luck on your journey!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
